Weekly Update

September 8th: 

Wow, what a great start to the first couple days  of school! The students are settled in nicely to the rules and routines of 1B . For this week we will continue to become acquainted with each other and build positive social connections in class. In Math, we are doing a quick review of Kindergarten outcomes to get ready to begin our Math Makes Sense and Math Games with grade one content in the next couple weeks. In Language arts, we will do our first journal entry with a focus on spaces between our words as I become more familiar with each student and their writing abilities. This week we will be beginning the Fundations program for grade one to continue with letter/sound recognition, phonics, CVC words, sentence building and more! Please remember to send in a set of ear phones for the chrome books if you have not done so yet. I look forward to meeting you all at meet the teacher night on Tuesday Sept 9th. ( Gym session at 5:45, first classroom session at 6:00, second classroom session at 6:30).
