Classroom materials
Language Arts – Students are asked to bring a novel to class daily. Choose a book which engages or interests you as a reader. These books could be non-fiction or fiction pieces, memoirs, etc. If you have trouble finding a selection, please see me, and I’ll be sure to hook you up with a good read that you can guarantee won’t disappoint! For some students, reading may not be your most favorite thing to do, but hopefully, by the end of the year, you will have read books that you enjoyed and were able to connect with. There are plenty of books to choose from within each of your classrooms. We will continue to book talk favorite reads and choose books of your liking.
Students within my Language Arts classes are also asked to have a three ring binder with looseleaf and dividers. If you did not pick up these items while doing back to school shopping, don’t fret! Use your imagination with the dividers. Take a piece of looseleaf and colored paper or sticky note. Cut the colored paper/sticky note and tape it to a piece of paper. Students can use these homemade dividers for their binders without having to go out and buy any. Staying organized is key and will help with timelines and assignment due dates. I will be asking students to have 3 dividers for their binders in which we will section it off accordingly during class time. We will do this together as a class! (There is no need for students to complete these tasks at home. We will complete this work together in the classroom.)
