Wow, this year has gone by so quickly. I’d like to say thank you for your support over the last year. I have loved getting to know and watching your children grow. There is a lot happening this month, please take a close look and mark things down in your calendar.
We will be writing the Provincial Math Assessment on June 16 and 17. Please help your child feel prepared and confident by making sure they have what they need to be successful each morning. This might include getting a good night’s sleep, having a favourite breakfast, dressing comfortably, or anything else that helps them feel ready to do their best at school. Thank you for your support!
Also, graduation is coming up soon! Students are welcome to head home after the ceremony. If your child will be leaving after graduation and staying home for the final two days of school, that is completely fine. Please email me or call the school to let us know your plans so Ms. Judy does not need to follow up with you. Thank you!
Just a few things:
-It is important that students arrive on time for school, having time to get settled prepares them for their upcoming day. O’Canada and announcements are on at 8:25 and we begin our day afterwards at 8:30. Thank you for cooperation with this.
-As the weather gets warmer and our classroom heats up, it’s a good time to remember the importance of daily hygiene. Showering regularly, wearing clean clothes, using deodorant, and practicing good personal care help everyone feel comfortable and confident at school.
Taking care of our hygiene is also a way of showing respect for ourselves and the people around us. A clean and fresh classroom helps everyone focus, learn, and enjoy being together each day.
Thank you for doing your part to keep our classroom a comfortable and positive place for everyone!
-I continue to notice that students are either coming in with empty water bottles or no water bottles, please ensure that water bottles are filled and are coming to school. Believe it or not, the refill stations get pretty jammed in the mornings. If we could help alleviate this, that would be great. Thank you for your support and cooperation with this.
Math- Students have been working to create, label, and interpret line graphs. Students will then move into probability. To wrap up the school year, students will have a consolidation of learning of all outcomes that they have learned throughout the year.
Writing- Students have finished their poetry unit. Students will have the opportunity to free write and do some research on various topics of their choosing for the month of June.
