December 6th

I am sad to say that I am moving from Spring Park School. There is another teacher, Marilyn Carey, who is going to be replacing me at Spring Park. I have accepted another position and will be working out of our EAL Office. I have loved working with your children and seeing their language grow and develop. Ms. Carey has started on Monday and we will both be at Spring Park working this week while she gets to know the school and the students.

November 24

Your children's English is improving so much! I am so happy to be working with them.

Parent-Teacher Interviews are this evening (Thursday the 24th) and tomorrow (Friday the 25th). There is no school tomorrow for students.

If you want to meet with me , please send an email and we can arrange an interview.

You should have received my EAL reports. If you did not, let me know and I will send home another. Students should be reading RAZ Kids at home. I will send home the log in information again Monday in case you need it.

Upcoming Dates:

November 30 - School spirit day. Wear yellow and/or purple

December 20 - Last school day before Christmas break

December 21 - January 2 - No School

January 3 - First day back to school

Look at the great work your children are doing!
We are busy writing, reading, talking and lerning new vocabulary. Your child should be reading most evenings on RAZ Kids.

Remember that there is NO SCHOOL on Thursday and Friday of this week.

**Reminder that there is NO school tomorrow Friday, October 21st

The Grade 3 concert was fabulous. Great job Ise, Yasmine, Ahmad, Hala, Danny, Ajden and Michael!
I have sent home all the information for your child to read books online (KidsA-Z). If you have not seen it yet, please ask them. I would like them to listen to and read these books often. I follow along with their work online.

It has been a busy start to the school year. It is almost the middle of October and we have already missed a week with Fiona, held the Terry Fox run and honored Orange Shirt Day. We are all working hard to catch up. Report cards will go home in November and I hope to meet you at Parent-Teacher interviews on November 24 and 25. Happy September!

I am so excited to work with your children and am looking forward to a great year! My name is Sherri Carmichael and I am an EAL teacher. The children call me Mrs. C.

I work with the children in small groups to improve their English. I will send you a note in the next couple of weeks to let you how often I am working with your child and what general areas we will be working on (reading, writing, listening, speaking).
