We had such a fun day experiencing what it was like living back then. We got to tour a blacksmith shop, a farm, a one room school house and a general store. We also got to go on a horse and carriage ride, watch how a blacksmith would make something out of metal, pick our own corn and feed it to the animals and play an old fashion game of pumpkin bowling.
The grade 1 English classes hatched about 150-160 chicks. We were invited to visit on two occasions to first hold the chicks (some did not want to) and a second time we got to read our books to the chicks. There were many comments that the reading part was the best day ever!!
