Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations the students worked on putting together their ideas for one final oral assignment. We ended the class with an introduction to a film study we will be doing.
Les sciences humaines 7D & 7A - After some review work, the students worked on their visual assignment for the unit. We reviewed the objective of the assignment and worked on a first draft and some students were able to begin their good copy. We will use the next class to continue this work.

Le français 7C - After class evaluations and a phrase game, the students completed a listening comprehension activity and we prepped for a reading comprehension activity.
Le français 7D - After class evaluations and a phrase game, we completed a little elson on the partitif and I introduced a final oral assessment the students will completed next week.

Les sciences humaines 7D & 7A - We worked with the review page of questions, the students reviewed the government with a handout with a diagram showing the roles of the government and how they are connected. We ended the class with the comparaison assignment where the students compared the norms and government structure of Canada to that of Ancient Rome. Those students who did not complete the assignment in class with need to complete it for homework.
Le français 7C - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students completed four activities in the grammar cahier to prepare for some reading comprehension that we will do tomorrow.
Le français 7D - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students completed two comprehension activities. The first was a listening comprehension activity and the second was a reading comprehension activity for powerschool.

Le français 7C & 7D - We completed our Qui suis-je ? activity using the phrases the students had prepared. We recorded an oral assignment, Ma ville, using the vocaroo application. We ended the class with some work in the grammar cahier.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We started the class with some review using the review page of questions. We reviewed the government notes in the cahier to complete the questions on the review page of questions. We then compared the family structure and norms between Ancient Athens and Rome. We are going to use this information for an assignment on Monday.

Le français 7C & 7D - We completed our class evaluations and played another round of Quelle phrase. We then played two rounds of Qui suis-je? using the negation phrases that the students had prepared. We ended the class with some more activities in the grammar cahier.
Les sciences humaines 7D - After some work with the review page of questions, the students completed the comparaison activity in the google classroom. We will use this information they've organised for an assignment next class. We ended the class with a mini lesson on Mt. Vesuvius.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and a phrase activity, the students worked on corrections for the ma ville assignment. I wanted to do one last correction before they record themselves. We focused the last few activities in the grammar cahier. We will need a few more days to complete the cahier. Episode 24 is to be completed for homework!!

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and a phrase competition, the students completed their negation phrases for a future activity. We then had the opportunity to review verb lessons in the grammar cahier.
Les sciences humaines 7C - After some work with the review page of questions, the students completed a comparaison activity where their compared the family structure in Ancient Rome to that of Ancient Athens. We will use this information for an assignment during tomorrow's class.

Le français 7D & 7C - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students worked on some grammar activities in the grammar cahier. We focused on Bescherelle work and the negation.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We worked with a new review of questions and then we worked with a video discussing the daily life in Ancient Rome. We answered some questions in our notes and ended the class with a quick lesson on the government. We will review the govern notes more to ensure understanding.
Les sciences humaines 7C - We reviewed the review page of questions and we shared our answers for the mythology, fresco and video activities from the previous class.

Le français 7C & 7D - After a conversation activity, we tried another round of quelle phrase using some photos as inspiration. We moved into a few activities in the grammar cahier, answering questions in the negative and applying the verb rules we've been practicing.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We completed a little review activity and then completed a little mythology activity, analysed some Roman frescos and ended the class with a little video showing a Roman temple discovered in London's underground.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students reviewed the structure for the négation and we applied this understanding to some grammar work. We are preparing some phrases about ourselves using the negation that will be applied to a little game in class. Video homework is due tomorrow!!!!!
Les sciences humaines 7D - We worked with the new review page of questions and reviewed the mythology information from yesterday. We returned to the visual analysis activity using Roman frescos and then a video on the social life in Ancient Rome. I returned the quiz from last week and we discussed some of the questions on the quiz.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We started with a study in the beginning of the Roman Empire and its political regimes. We organised a summary in the cahier and began reviewing the social structure using a graphic organiser. I returned the quiz and we had enough time to discuss the pertinent questions on the quiz.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations, we tried out a new phrase activity that we will use for the next few weeks. We then worked on some verb activities in our grammar cahier. I think we resolved some issues with comprehension around verb conjugaison and we tried applying our understanding to some news activities. The video is up and ready to be completed by Friday.
Les sciences humaines 7D - We started with a review activity of the social structure and citizenship in ancient Rome. We used pages 133, 134, 136 and 137 to study the government structure and applied our understanding to the resume activity on page 134.

Les sciences humaines 7A - We wrote our first quiz for the unit, our geography quiz. We moved into the social structure/hierarchy and social groups using pages 137, 138, and 139 (Questions 1 and 2).
Les sciences humaines 7D - We started with a review activity of the social structure and citizenship in ancient Rome. We used pages 133, 134, 136 and 137 to study the government structure and applied our understanding of the structure using question 1 on page 139 and the resume activity on page 134.
Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students reviewed the structure of the homework assignment last week. We participated in a rotational conversation activity where the students shared their ma ville assignment with a partner. We used some samples and completed some notes. We used the samples and notes to correct any mistakes we may have had on our homework assignment. I assigned a homework video for the week, Épisode 23.

Le français 7C & 7D - After a conversation activity, the students reviewed the Bescherelle rules we had studied earlier in the year and applied them to an activity in the grammar cahier. Then the students received their ma ville assignment back with corrections to be made. The students had some time to complete the corrections and ask any questions for clarification.
Les sciences humaines 7A - After a review activity with the map of Italy, we tried a strategy for studying. We then corrected our answers for the geographic advantages in the area to prepare for the quiz on Monday. The materials for the quiz can be found here on this site for the students who were absent today. The students received their cahiers for this unit and we started working with the geography based questions on pages 130 and 131 using the information on pages 128 and 129.

Le fançais 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students completed their good copy of the Ma ville assignment. We completed a review activity for using a Bescherelle to remind ourselves of the strategies and then applied it to a pop quiz and an activity in the grammar cahier.
Les sciences humaines 7D - The students completed their first quiz in the fourth unit on Italian geography. We continued our study of the government of the Roman empuire in the cahier, pages 132, 133, 134 and 135.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students worked on their paragraph assignment where they are to describe their neighbourhood. We will be putting together our good copy tomorrow. We ended the class with an explanation of this week's homework assignment, a photography assignment where they show themselves completing an action using three verb tenses - futur proche, présent and passé récent.
Les sciences humaines 7C - We completed a review activity to prepare for tomorrow's quiz. We tried a new strategy for studying and then we worked in the cahier. We completed questions 1, 2 and 4 on page 128. We started looking into the social hierarchy in the Roman empire. We analysed a visual resource and made comparaisons to previous societies we've studied.

Le français 7C & 7D - After a conversation activity, the students completed some reading comprehension activities. We started working on a writing assignment where the students are to prepare a paragraph describing their neighbourhood/village. There is a sample from class in the google classroom and here on this site - Mon quartier -.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We began the final unit of the course. The students completed a map of the Italian peninsula, analysed some photos from the Roman region and began working on advantages of the area's geography. We scheduled a quiz on the topic for Monday, May 26.

Le français 7D & 7C - After class evaluations, the students completed a third quiz prepared by their classmates using the futur proche. We returned to the passé récent, reviewed, corrected some work and played a little game using some ideas from the students.
Les sciences humaines 7C - We shared our ideas for the democracies comparaison activity and then moved into the final unit. We started with the geography around Italy and began looking at the advantages of the geography surrounding Rome.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and some new phrases for our phrase wall, the students reviewed the futur proche with a quiz activity that other students developed. We continued with the passé récent writing some phrases with word banks and then using the passé récent within specific contexts. We are going to use their ideas for an activity tomorrow.
Les sciences humaines 7D - We reviewed their ideas of democracy in Canada versus democracy in Ancient Athens. We then began working with the new unit on Rome. We're focusing on geography. We completed the map and did some work in a new cahier for the fourth unit.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We reviewed using the review page of questions. We then completed the good copy of our comparing Canada with Ancient Athens using our notes on the social structure and the government structure. We ended the class with an activity in the google classroom that had the students comparing more deeply the government structure. The students were presented with further details and then found similarities and differences between the two.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations, the students prepare a question using futur proche. We will use the question tomorrow in a class activity. We continued with a worksheet and verified our understanding of the grammar rules. We ended the class with an introduction to the passé récent but we will need tomorrow's class to complete the lesson. We also enjoyed a nice concert at François Buote by Moyenne Rig, country acadien band from New Brunswick. The audio recording using vocaroo.com is due tomorrow!!!
Les sciences humaines 7D - After a quick review session, the students completed the final outcome for the unit. We compared the democratic structures of the Canadian and Athenian governments. We completed a little activity in the google classroom where the students identified the similarities and differences.

Le français 7D & 7C - After class evaluations, the students completed a conversation activity using the future proche. The students prepared their own question using a similar format to show their understanding of futur proche. We started a little work sheet to apply our understanding of the grammar rules for futur proche.
Les sciences humaines 7D & 7C - We completed a mini review activity using the review page of questions. I collected the visual assignment for the unit and we completed and review the notes in the cahier (pages 120 et 121). We began comparing the democratic structure of the governments in Ancient Athens and Canada.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students reviewed the verb notes in the cahier and applied it to a pop quiz. We ended the class correcting a sample paragraph assignment that the students will work on during tomorrow's class.
Les sciences humaines 7C - After the review page of questions, the students were given time to work on their visual assignment. We ended the class with the next assignment, a comparaison assignment where the students compare Canada to ancient Athens. The material they will need can be found in the google classroom. They are to complete a first draft for the next class, Monday, May 5.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations, the students focused on a grammar lesson for the verbs Être and Avoir. We completed three pages of the grammar cahier to test our understanding of the rules.
Les sciences humaines 7D - We worked with the review page of questions and then had time to work on the visual project. Our class was cut short due to a presentation from the Easter Seals.
Les sciences humaines 7A - After some work with the review of questions, the students received an introduction to a visual assignment. We were a bit rushed but we will use the next few classes to work on the assignment so that students can ask questions and I can monitor their progress.

Le français 7C & 7D - The students completed two conversation activities. The first was simply a conversation activity. The second was an introduction to verbs and served as a reminder how verbs change depending on who is using the verb. We will continue this lesson the next class.

Les sciences humaines 7C & 7D - The worked with the review page of questions and we discussed some of the questions to affirm our understanding. We were able to dive into the mini visual project. The students will be working on this in class for the next few classes.
Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations the students worked with some phrase wall conversations some classmates have created. We then returned to our possessive adjectives notes and corrected our errors in the work book.

We then completed questions 6 and 7 in the cahier as a class. We ended the class with a visual assignment the students will complete in class. I had the opportunity to go through the purpose and instructions for the assignment and demonstrate an example.

We then completed a little lesson on possessive adjectives and completed a mini quiz in the google classroom. Those students who were absent can fin that in the google classroom for them to complete.

Les sciences humaines 7D - We started with a review activity applying the information from the most recent quiz. We will review the quiz tomorrow. We continued our lesson on democracy and began looking into the role of government. We did a little activity looking at the differences between municipal, provincial and federal governments.
Les sciences humaines 7C - After a little review activity, the students discussed democracy and the role of government. Using yesterday's lesson, the students organised charts listing the responsibilities of government and how we can see this in the initial government of Ancient Athens.

The started their presentations but we will need another class to complete this. The students will be presenting their work to a judge during a class next week. Les sciences humaines 7D - We completed a second quiz for the unit. We then did some source analysis for the topic of government and Athenian democracy.
Les sciences humaines 7A - After some brief work with the review page of questions, the students compared information on the city state of Sparte and compared it to what we know about Athens. We began our lesson on democracy and government. We did reschedule the quiz for Monday due to the school cancellation on Monday this week. The students received some information today that will be included in the quiz.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students worked on comparative phrases and adjectives as we continued working through the brackets for Canadian tourism destinations. Using our ideas and examples, the students will be completing a final argument for their chosen destination.
Les sciences humaines 7C & 7D - After some brief work with the review page of questions, the students completed a practice quiz. 7D has their quiz tomorrow, 7C will have their quiz on Monday. After the practice quiz, we continued our lesson on government and the students received a brief sense of how an authoritarian government and a democratic government could work. We will be diving deeper into these topics the next few lessons.

Le français 7D & 7C - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students worked with the comparative phrase and adjective lessons as they compared provincial tourism campaigns. It is following a bracket system, so we will continue tomorrow with their preferences. Épisode 19 is posted and to be completed for Friday morning.

Le français 7C & 7D - After a conversation activity and some phrase review, the students reviewed the process for according adjectives to their subjects and we did some further practice. We discussed the reading comprehension we did earlier in the week.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We worked with the review page of questions and scheduled our next quiz for Friday, April 4. The subject of the quiz is the Athenian family. We will do some further review and practice in the classes leading up to the quiz. We looked at a second soure of information on the Athenian family and compared the it to that our of cahier. We will continue this activity next class.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students did some work with adjectives. We looked at sample adjectives and completed a lesson on according adjectives to their subject. A presentation has been uploaded for the students to review.
Les sciences humaines 7A & 7C - We started with some work on the review of questions. We then continued our comparaison activity as the students compared the lives of men and women in Ancient Athens. We then started into some work in the cahier, page 105 where we are to summarise the information on pages 102 to 104.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students completed an activity using their quantitative adverb phrases from yesterday. It was a success and we will give it another go tomorrow. We then started a lesson on adjectives with the goal of completing some French poetry.
Les sciences humaines 7C - We started with our geography quiz. Everyone was present for the quiz so we were fortunate to have a chance to go over the quiz once everyone was done. We then started organising the notes on what we learned about the lives of young men and women in Ancient Athens.
Les sciences humaines 7D - We went over the quiz and had a quick chance to look at our results. We continued organising the notes but moved onto the differences between men and women in Ancient Athens. We then began completing some work in the cahier.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evauations and some activities with the phrase wall, the students received the reading comprehension that they had completed on Thursday. We discussed the questions quickly and went over a strategy one could use on future reading comps.
Les sciences humaines 7D - We started with a quick review activity using the review page of questions. We then completed a partner activity where the students compared the lives of boys and girls in Ancient Athens. the students used the information we highlighted in the cahier. We ended the section on the roles of métèques and esclaves in the cahier.

Le français 7C - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students received the results of the poster contest. We ended the class with a reading comprehension activity.
Le français 7D - After the class evaluations, the students analysed the posters of 7C and determined whose activity was the best suggestion with a poster that was the best organised.
Les sciences humaines 7D - We wrote our first quiz for the third unit and the results should be posted by the weekend. We continued into the social structure of Ancient Athens, focusing on children and women today.

Le français 7D - The students completed a self evaluation in preparation for tomorrow's parent/teacher interviews. We completed a phrase competition and ended the class with a reading comprehension activity.

We completed a self-evaluations and shared the ideas from our geography activity from yesterday. We started into the lesson on social groups but we will need another class for that lesson.

Le français 7C & 7D - We complete some more class evaluations and added some more phrases to our phrase wall. The students were given time to complete their posters and we began sharing it with classmates to proof our work. We will be using the posters for an activity tomorrow and Thursday. Do not forget we have Épisode 16 to complete for homework.
Les sciences humaines 7C - After some work with the review page of questions and another round of our mythology game. The students analysed the geographies of three city states. We will be using their ideas for an activity tomorrow. We have a geography quiz scheduled for Tuesday, March 11!

They we given the reminder of the class to complete their poster assignment. We will begin using the posters for a conversation activity during tomorrow's class.

We did some work in the cahier, but we will need another class to complete the notes. Geography quiz is scheduled for Monday, March 10!!

Le français 7D & 7C - The students completed the class evaluations and phrase review and then typed their Ma réponse assignment in the google classroom. We ended with a mini tutorial on the Google Drawing Application. We will be using it tomorrow.
Les sciences humaines 7D - After some review and a reminder of our quiz (le jeudi 6 mars), the students discussed their ideas for the city-state activity in the google classroom. We then completed an atlas activity that had the students exploring maps to find the correct answers.
Les sciences humaines 7A - After some review with the review page of questions, we assigned a geography quiz for Monday, March 10. We then worked with the mythology activity from Monday and then we ended the class with some work in the cahier - pages 86 to 89.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students peer edited their email response assignment. We will be completing the good copy in class tomorrow. We then organised our ideas for an imaginary event the students are to plan and advertise for a Stress-Free Day at Stonepark. We will use these ideas for a poster assignment to be completed in class.

The students then applied their understanding of geography as we analysed the geographies of three city states in ancient Greece. We assigned a geography quiz for ourselves for Thursday, March 6.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students completed a phrase activity and a quick conversation activity. We returned to the letter assignment and the students organised their response to the sample letter of a student dealing with some stress.

Le français 7D & 7C - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students completed their email assignment where they shared some stressors in their life. We began looking at ideas of activities we could do to lower our stress levels. The handout is available to students here on this site.
Les sciences humaines 7D - We began with a review of the map of Greece and the advantages and disadvantages of its geography. With that review in mind, the students worked on a review page of questions. We moved into the workbook for the third unit and completed pages 86-89.

Le français 7D & 7C - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students returned to their email assignment where they are to write a short email to a friend talking about some stress they have going on in their life. The goal is to practice using their Bescherelle notes to help them build their email. They wrote their first draft in class. 7D began typing their good copy but we will use some of tomorrow's class to complete this. 7C began writing their first draft and if it was not completed in class, they will need to complete it for homework.
Les sciences humaines 7C - We began our study into the next unit on Ancient Athens. We are studying the geography of Greece and how it will impact Greek societies. We watched a video and used Google Earth to give ourselves a better understanding. We also discussed the project briefly - remember the due date is Tuesday, February 25.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations the students did a little partner work with the phrases. They prepared a list of the more difficult phrases to remember and we will use those lists for future activities. We practiced our questions on the topic of stress and began looking at a writing assignment where the students will be creating an email using the lessons on stress and our lesson on the bescherelle.
Les sciences humaines 7C & 7D - After a review activity where we complete a vocabulary list for the second unit. The students wrote a list of every word that they can associate with Ancient Egypt. They compared their list with that of M. Beaton and the team with the most words that M. Beaton forgot will receive a prize. We then used this vocabulary activity to feed our ideas for the visual project we have to complete for the second unit.

Le français 7C & 7D - After class evaluations and a little phrase competition, the students learned the phrasing for stress reducing stratégies. We applied our learning from the Bescherelle lesson on Thursday and Friday and added another conversation question to our unit notes. The documents have been uploaded to this site for the students who were absent. Do not forget the video!!
Les sciences humaines 7C - We did an in-depth discussion of the unit assignment. We looked at the samples the students prepared last week and how we can apply the same strategies to our own projects. The students began organising their ideas in a rough draft and we began addressing any issues we were encountering. I returned the comparison assignment that the students completed last class and allowed any students unhappy with their mark to resubmit their corrections.

We then returned to our stress vocabulary to ask and answer questions on our sources of stress. We completed a little survey activity to determine what items give us loads to little stress. The presentation has been uploaded to this site for those students who were absent.

Le français 7C & 7D - We completed a conversation activity and then a phrase review. We then returned to our ma faiblesse assignment where students made some corrections to their writing and began providing suggestions to another student's unhealthy weakness.

Those students unable to complete their good copy will need to complete it for homework. Then, I introduced the visual assignment we will complete to end our unit. We looked at the outline, the goal and rubric of the project and worked on a sample project to gain a better understanding of the expectations.

The students then prepared a mini paragraph identifying a weakness in their life that compromises their health - like M. Beaton and cookies. We will use this information next week. Les sciences humaines 7A - The students completed their quiz for the unit. We then explored some of the social norm in Canada and began comparing them to those of Ancient Egypt. They have responsibility to identify where we are similar and where we are different. The students began a first draft that will need to be done for next Friday, February 7. Using a list of suggestions developed by other students, they choose their favourite for a particular scenario. Just a little activity to practice the grammatical phrasing for giving a suggestion. We then worked on a conversation activity to introduce specific phrases to prepare for our next assignment, a voicemail assignment. We are now working descriptive phrases for our preferred sports. The students received a new list of vocabulary and phrases they can use to apply to their preferred. We will be applying these phrases on a future assignment.

We completed a new list of descriptive phrases for our preferred sports and completed a google form to apply these phrases. The form can be found in the google classroom for the students who were absent. The students were introduced to a new structure of question to apply new verbs to our sports vocabulary.

We assigned a geography quiz for ourselves for Wednesday, December 18. We expanded our geography study further into the fertile crescent (Le croissant fertile).

We talked about what we identified in each image and watched a video to give us a better idea of the Egyptian geography. Les sciences humaines 7A - The students completed a short review activity to prepare for Friday's quiz. They then received the second draft of their writing assignment for the first unit. The second draft included corrections and suggestions to improve their writing. They then had the chance to return to the document and make the necessary adjustments. We ended with a Trip Across Canada activity to study up on Canadian geography and it also served as some extra help for our quiz.

Le français 7C & 7D - The students completed a self-evaluation in preparation for tomorrow's Parent-Teacher Interviews. We then completed our lunchtime evaluations that were prepared by the other class.
Les sciences humaines 7C & 7D - We completed a little review activity to prepare for our quizzes next week (7D's quiz got moved! Je suis désolé). We then began typing our paragraph response in the google classroom. Many students were able to complete their paragraphs and those who did not will need to complete this for homework as M. Le français 7C- After class evaluations and phrase review, the students evaluated the suggestions presented by the 7D students. They identified the strengths and weaknesses of their ideas and scored the final product. We will need some more time to complete the evaluations.

Les sciences humaines 7D et 7A - We reviewed questions 19 to 39 and discussed our upcoming quiz. 7D has their quiz on Thursday, November 21 and 7A has their quiz scheduled for Friday, November 29. We returned to our work book and the students completed their ideas for the paragraph assignment. We will begin typing our first draft the next class.
Le français 7C - The students completed the class evaluations and phrase review. We then turned to a sample lunch of a friend and developed suggestions to replace her choices. With a partner, the students shared their ideas and they came to an agreement on the better option - their own or their partner's. We will use these ideas during tomorrow's class.
Le français 7D - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students evaluated the suggestions presented by the 7C students. They identified the strengths and weaknesses of their ideas and scored the final product. We will need some more time to complete the evaluations.

Le français 7C & 7D - After a conversation activity and a phrase review session, the students worked with vocabulary on restrictions and preferences. It was a means of practicing our language for giving a suggestion.
Les sciences humaines 7A - The students reviewed the review sheet of questions with a partner and then we began working with the paragraph assignment for the unit. We organised the sources and began writing some initial ideas. We will be using these ideas the next class.

Le français 7D - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students completed three activities focusing on vocabulary to describe restrictions while applying the phrases and questions we've been practicing in class.
Les sciences humaines 7D - We worked on the review page of questions, focusing first on questions 19 to 26 and then we tested a partner on the provincial capitals, questions 27 to 39. We scheduled a quiz for Thursday, November 21. The quiz will be on the provincial capitals and the provinces and territories. To help with their studies, the students received some homework, identifying the provinces and territories on a map handout that was distributed today. We worked on our paragraph assignment for the first unit using a guide and key questions. We completed two questions today and will complete the next two questions next class.

Le français 7C & 7D - The students completed the class evaluations and phrase review and we participated in a conversation activity using the phrases and questions we had studied last week. Now the students are applying their understanding to a formative dialogue with a partner. This assignment will show understanding and then the students will move onto the real deal.

Les sciences humaines 7C - The students received a new page of review questions; we completed questions 16 to 21. We then returned to our dodgeball activity as a means of introducing the concept of hierarchy and we examined some evidence to support the idea of hierarchy during the Neolithic period.

Le français 7D & 7C - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students reviewed a dialogue activity, playing the roles of a customer and a server in a canteen to practice our phrases and vocabulary for ordering.
Les sciences humaines 7A - The students received a new review page of questions and we completed questions 19 to 25. We then returned to the workbook and reviewed the material on pages 40 and 41 and completed questions 1 to 5 on pages 42 and 43. We started a conversation on the final assessment for this section of unit 1 but we will need next class to really begin the assignment.
Les sciences humaines 7D - We reviewed using the review page of questions and returned to the questions on pages 32 and 33 (questions 1, 2, 3 and 5). We returned to our dodgeball activity and used this analogy to explain the concept of social hierarchy and power. We ended the class talking about remains and ruins that can be used as sources for studying society. We looked at some sample cave drawings and the ruins of an ancient village in the Middle East.

Le français 7C & 7D - The students completed another round of class evaluations and phrase review. We continued into the phrases necessary for a conversation in a restaurant and applied some study of a menu, reasons for our choices and a sample dialogue for the students to use as reference.
Les sciences humaines 7D - The students worked on a new review page of questions. We then worked on questions 1, 2 and 3 on page 32 of the workbook. We ended the class with a team activity and the students will learn how their ideas are to be applied to the concept of social structure.

We reviewed the material from yesterday and then we worked on questions 1, 2, and 3 in the workbook on page 32. We ended the class with a team activity that will help us with the next lesson.

Le français 7D & 7C - After class evaluations and phrase review, we worked on developing new questions to ask each other using the vocabulary for previous lessons. We used these questions for a conversation activity. The 7D crew completed their mini quiz for giving preference.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We began some final review activities for the first unit on the sedentarisation of societies. We completed some of the work as a class and some of it independently. For those students who were absent, we worked on pages 40-41.
Les sciences humaines 7C - The students completed their first quiz for the unit. We then began a small reading comprehension activity using pages 28 and 29 where we compared three ancient villages from the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods. These descriptions will support the ideas we are developing about the two periods.

Le français 7D & 7C - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students completed a ranking activity for a select group of beverages. We used this information for a conversation activity where students could ask for preference and reasons why. We then completed our first listening comprehension activity using a short video where three friends are discussing sandwich options at a food truck.
Les sciences humaines 7D - The students completed their first quiz today. We then worked on a reading comprehension activity using some information of ancient villages in our text. The students completed a table of information that can be found in the google classroom - code is mk7ysl5. The information for the villages is on page 28.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We have our first quiz tomorrow!! We reviewed using the review page of questions and then we returned to our workbook. We completed the summary notes on page 31 and then started to apply this information to questions 1, 2, 3 and 5 on pages 32 and 33.

We continued into workbook, reviewing the notes from the previous class and completing a summary activity on page 25. We began moving into the next lesson comparing the Paléolithique and the Néolithique.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We reminded ourselves of our quiz scheduled for Friday, October 25. We worked through the review page of questions and then we returned to the workbook to beginning studying the structure of the common village during the Néolithique period. We highlighted the concepts of Division of Labour and Trade.

They had a peer review their work and they practiced with a partner. They are assigned to review their ideas for homework to work on pronunciation. We then started into some negation, talking about what we do not like to eat.

Le français 7C & 7D - We started the day with a converation activity applying some of our learned questions to a new context. We then had a friendly phrase competition and we ended the class with an argument assignment. The students prepared an argument where they choose, in their opinion, the best snack. Using our description phrases, the students supported their argument with six supportive sentences.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We added to our collection of review questions and continued into our first unit and we focused on the transition from nomadic to sedentary societies. We used the notes of our workbook and two videos to build our understanding and completed a notes summary in the workbook - page 25 - for those students who were absent.

We were able to develop a conclusion based on the results of the survey question. We then began completing a little converational assignment where the students prepare an argument for the best snack. We are applying our lesson of reasons to support our opinion.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We reviewed using the review page of questions. We then continued into our workbook and completed the questions on pages 14 and 15. We were able to move onto the beginning of our study of the Neolithic Age.

The students will complete a similar activity on their own during tomorrow's class.

We ranked our favourite snacks and then we shared our favourite and least favourite. We then began working on explaining our choices, giving reasons for our favourite snack. I have posted the weekly homework, épisode 3 on the site.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We worked through the review page of questions as a class and then with a partner. We focused on the first four pages of the sedentarisation section of the workbook (pages 12 to 15). We are working on some map reading through a practice quiz type assignment on pages 14 and 15. The students are being tested on their skills reading the information presented in a map to answer a series of questions; some prep work for future assessments. We did not complete all the questions so we ill need another class.

We are working on asking if we like or dislike certain snacks. We used a google form quiz and took a look at the results and then asked each other the question. We ended the class with a common error activity using yesterday's writing assignment. We are going to working on these corrections for a few classes.

We ended the class with an introduction to the second unit on snacks. We are starting to work on how to say what we like and do not like.

Épisode 2 of the video series has been added and the students are to have it complete by Thursday evening.

We ended the class with a paragraph assignment. The students used their ideas from the family description they had prepared yesterday and put them together in a paragraph. The sample can be found here on this site in the français 7C & 7D section.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We reviewed questions 1 to 8 on the review page of questions. We then completed question 1 on page 8 as we discussed the aspects of societies that we will study this year. We ended the class with some source analyses as we begin studying how the earliest societes organised themselves.

Using phrases and questions we've been practicing, the students are writing a description of their family. We've organised our ideas today and we will begin our paragraph tomorrow. Those students who need to complete their ideas will need to do it for homework. The exemples are on this site in the Français section. We also have our video homework to complete!
Les sciences humaines 7A - We worked on the review page of questions, finishing questions 5 to 8. We then worked in the workbook and completed questions 6, 7 and 8 using information on pages 4 to 7 to guide our answers. I handed out the timeline assignment and took in the assignment from those who completed it for homework.

The students received their first draft and were given time to complete a good copy. Time was an issue and we are going to return to this activity tomorrow. We started into the workbook for the first unit and highlighted key information on the concept of history and began answering questions on timelines. We continue this work on timelines tomorrow.
Le français 7D & 7C - After class evaluations and phrase review, the students participated in a conversation activity using the page of description questions (Est-ce que tu as...Est-ce que tu es...). Then using this information the students began organising information for our next assignment, one where we describe ourselves and our family. I have uploaded the presentation with examples here on this site for those students who were absent. I also reminded the students that they have a video homework to complete - Épisode 1 here on this site! Must be done by Friday morning.

We continued our descriptive phrases activity. We worked through a collection of descriptive, personal phrases using visuals to guide our understanding. The handout and the presentation have been added to this site for the students to use.
Les sciences humaines 7A - We started the class with a review sheet of questions. This will be a very common activity for the remainder of the year. I have uploaded the document to this site for the students to use at home. We then took time to work on our timeline activity and students were given a chance to complete their first draft and begin their good copy. We then discussed their ideas on sources and were introduced to the terms primary source and secondary source. We ended the class by completing our roman numeral competition.

We are preparing to complete an oral assignment with the information but we are running into some technical difficulties. We ended the class with the first steps of a descriptive phrase lesson. We will need another class to complete this activity.

Today's news - We had school photos today. A document was sent home with a QR code and a website where students will be able to access their proofs. Those students who were absent for the photos today will have the opportunity to have their photo taken tomorrow.

School Photos Tomorrow!
Le français 7C & 7D - We completed our class evaluations and phrase review. The students practiced their interview questions with a partner and then we introduced our 'classmate'. The students were given a school photo of another student and they had to create answers for the student using our interview questions. We assigned our interview assignment for Wednesday, September 18. The students are to interview a family member and they will use these answers for an assignment this week.
