We are back!
It was so wonderful to see all our sweet faces today! Everyone seemed happy to be back in our world of building relationships and learning. As you already know, your daily support is so greatly appreciated. This week, we are back into our routines and we are learning to use certain expressions in french : J'aime (to like or love)... Please ask them to use it at home. They should be able to start their thinking with J'aime followed by something in english. We are also learning the french alphabet - this is more than only singing it. We are linking upper case and lower case letters. It is not an easy task!!! You wil find our ABC french song on this site.
Learning how to hold our pencil and write is very challenging for most of us. Give them some paper and a pencil so you are able to check it out. I will send you a link that could help with the proper pencil grip.
Here are a few important events happening this week:
We are going to do some Thanksgiving Craft and read some books...
Thursday is our Teaddy Bear Clinic - Our UPEI student nurses are going to set our classroom as an ER. Everyone is invited to bring a stuffy. It should fit in their school bag.

Wednesdat Oct 19th, we are going to Arlington Orchard... You will find a high risk permission form in your child's homework bag - every section needs to be signed and the form returned. There is a cost of $3 for the event. If you wish to make a donation to help others in the class to be able to go. It would be greatly appreciated.

Celebrating all our children's growth this week!
We will have the opportunity to talk about our children's progress and challenges this week. It goes without saying that everyone has grown so much academically and socially since the first day of school. I hope that you are also seeing some positive changes at home with independance and skills. This is only possible when everyone is working together for each child.
It is not always easy to share, to cooperate, to work hard, to be kind all the time! Our children are mostly learning how to be with each other and to learn to respect that everyone is different.
Academically, we are still trying to learn our letters name and sounds... That is really challenging!

We are heading into February!
Good morning all,
It's is hard to believe that we are heading into February this week. As you already know, this past week has been very exciting for all.
It all started with some wild winter weather. Once back in school, we had the pleasure to get a presentation on snakes and bearded dragons, a winter walk to the dome and a fantastic assembly revealing the values of what being EAGLES mean! We also worked hard on letter recognition, numbers, patterns, holding our scissors (challenging for many), drawing stories, talking in french, learning our winter clothing vocabulary...
Next week, we will have a milk presentation and the learning will continue!
I will send you the third reading homework in the yellow duo tang. I hope that this is not stressful and that some children are reading daily. Please remember the importance of you reading to them. I've included our short video on the homework process in case you didn't see it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jYvwWOsva6G5Jmwu2qp3ARjcnI04tvjo/view?usp=share_link
A few important dates:
February 2nd - Our school is hosting from 6PM to 7 PM a session called Co-Regualation: How to share your calm with your children.
February 3rd - Kindness Candy purchase are due - You will find a form in your child's homework bag. You can buy a small bag of candy for your child for $1. We will not be accepting late orders.
That is all for this week
Have a great weekend and talk soon :)

Winter Carnival and wellness week!
We are going to have a wonderful week before the break! I have included the activity schedule:
Monday is hat day...
Tuesday is PJ day and we are going to the movies in the morning. We will be sharing our Valentine's Day cards and party time! Music and food are only some of the highlights.
Wednesday is Pink Shirt Day or dress alike day. Students and staff will have a pancake breakfast. We are also going to play Canada Games Trivia.
Thursday is Blue and White day. We are also going skating... Students who are not skating are going to have some fun at school!
Friday is Red and White day (the Canada colors).
The last email you have all received has everyone's name for the Valentine's Day cards. If your child is participating, please have one for every child in the class. It is hard to deal with hurt feelings...
Learning will still happen during all this...
Furthermore, I would like to THANK you all for your support since September and I have enjoyed working with our/your children. I know that the future is bright for our/your children because they are already demonstrating some leadership qualities, kind hearts and joy of learning.
Take care and be well!
Monsieur Terry
