November 23rd,
Today in class we started our next chapter on fractions decimals and percents. We spent some time today going over place value and rounding deciamal numbers. I will post on google classroom a video to watch and some practice sheets.

November 21st,
Today we went over the test from Friday and started our next chapter on fractions, decimals, and percents. I will post the video to watch in google classroom. No homework this week.

Today in class we reviewed for out test tomorrow. I will post the review on google classroom with a practice test in case you would like to practice. Homework is also due tomorrow . It was posted on google classroom on Monday.

Today in class I introduced the KFC rule for subtracting integers. I will post on google classroom a video and some work for those that missed the lesson. Homework is online this week through google classroom. It is on 99math. Due on Friday.

I have posted the work from today and yesterday's class on google classroom. I have also handed out homework for this week yesterday in class and it is due on Thursday. We will have a test next Wednesday or Thursday on chapter 9.

Today in class we played kahoot and blooket with our multiplication facts. We also finished up the work from Wednesday with the definitions (cartesian plane, x-axis, y-axis, etc and the math antics sheets. We will work on bookwork on Monday.
September 22, 2022
We had a speaker in our class today to work on problem solving. Homework is due tomorrow.
September 15th,
We have been working on order of operations and basic math facts over the past week and a half. Students have worked on compiling a list of multiplication facts to work on over the next little while. We will play multiplication games in class to freshen up these skills.
Tomorrow we will have a quiz on order of operations and we will start chapter 1 in our math links book on Monday.

Students worked on completeing circumfernce of a circle today in class as well as began area of a circle. I will put the worksheets on google classroom that we are working on in class.

We did a review of our algebra chapter today in class and will have a test tomorrow. I have the review and answer key posted on google classroom.

Students worked on the book work today in class. I have posted the pages and numbers of the questions students should have completed for tomorrow.
April 11th
I have had a large number of students coming to me to see what they missed as they were out due to illness or other reasons. I spend a great deal of time during the day preparing for teaching in class and I am also now posting to our classroom everything we are working on in class. This is taking a lot of time during the day and on the weekends to keep those at home up to date so they are not missing the work. When a student comes back from missing several days of class and has not taken the time to even check the google site or classroom I'm sure you can imagine the frustration. I have spoken to several students today to go home and go over the work that is posted and if they have any quesions they may come on Wednesday to afterschool math help to get some clarification. I will be happy to help.
7E - Please check the google classroom to complete the 4 questions that we were working on at the end of today's class. They are to be done for tomorrow's class.
April 7th,
We will be having our second math assignment in Algebra tomorrow in class. I have posted two videos to watch that will go over the steps to solve these on our google classroom. Please review for tomorrow's class.
March 30th,
Today in math we had a guest speaker in with us from the department of education. He showed us several strategies on how to add subtract multiply and divide in our heads. No calculators, pens or paper. It was a great class to help students see different numbers in an easier way. Don't forget your homework is due tomorrow!!

We are working on writing expressions in words and beginning to form expressions from a discription. I will post on google classroom the work sheets we are doing in class as well as the bookwork in chapter 10.

There are several students that have not yet completed their test before the break. I will be taking these students out of class either tomorrow or Wednesday (depending on how many students there are). Please make sure you have reviewed for this test.
Today in class we began our chapter on Algebra. I have posted two videos to watch as well as notes and a fill in the blank booklet for you to complete. Today in class we were only able to complete half of the booklet. We will finish this tomorrow and I will post our next pages to work on.

Today in math we completed work on Least Common Multiple and converting improper fractions to mixed numbers and back again. I have placed some worksheets in google classroom for you to work on.
February 15th,
Today we began chapter 7. We went over a couple of things from grade 6 - turning mixed numbers to improper fractions and improper fractions to mixed numbers. We also started a booklet that I will post on our google classroom. Please make sure you go over example number 2 on page 232 to understand how to use multiples to find a common denominator. Homework went home today and is not due until Feb 25th. You will have two weeks to complete this.
February 10th, 2022
We wrote the test for chapter 6 today in class. I have posted the test online for students that were unable to be here today. Please submit (if you can) by the end of the day tomorrow.

Today we worked on a practice test and questions from the review and practice test at the end of our chapter. I will attach the practice test for you in google classroom and let you know the pages and numbers to go over in the book.

Today students worked to complete the bookwork from sections 6.2 and 6.3. We also completed two worksheets on adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators. I have posted both of these in google classroom.

I have asked a few students to take home their assignments/tests to finish up tonight for homework. I need to have then handed back to me by tomorrow.
Homework was sent home today and is due on Friday.
Students began working on pages 214-215 questions 5-13, as well as page 220-221 questions 4-11. We will finish this up on Tuesday and will have the second part of our test on Wednesday.
February 2nd,
Please finish up the chapter 6 section 6.1 on divisibility rules, factoring, and reducing fractions for tomorrow's class. Tomorrow we will finish up a short assignment and have a mini test.
February 1st,
Today we spent most of the class reviewing multiplication and division facts. We played a game on the chromebooks that helped focus the students on these facts and helped us review. It is extremely important for all students to become fluent with these to be able to find a stronger success in our chapters moving forward as well as the coming years in math. If you have a phone or device at home please think about downloading a game that will keep these facts fresh!!
January 31st,
There will not be any official homework this week however I am asking everyone to have the worksheet from today completed on reducing fractions. We will correct at the beginning of tomorrow's class. We will spend some time going over multiplication facts tomorrow. Try to download a game on your phone or device that will help you practice the multiplication facts!!!!!
Decembaer 13th,
No Homework this week. 7E got their homework late last week so I have given them an extension to hand in their homework sometime this week.

Today we started chapter 9 on Integers. I have a video on google classroom for anyone that missed Friday. We worked though pages 310-312 today in class looking at zero pairs and opposite integers. We will continue with this tomorrow.

All classes will write thier chapter 1 math test tomorrow. Any student that will not be in school tomorrow will be writing theirs on Monday in the homework/assignment room. There are a few questions on page 36 and 38 in the text book that are good practice questions to prepare for the test. Page 36 - #'s 10,11,12 and page 38 - #'s 1,2,5,6.

Students started their "Flags R Us Assignment" for chapter 1 today in class. Everyone is to have a flag creation of their own ready for tomorrow's class. All flags and directions will be due at the end of tomorrow's class.

Homework was sent home today with students. It is due on Friday Sept 24th at the beginning of class.
Students worked to complete #10 on page 16 today in class as well as 1.2 booklet. I will be giving 5-10 min tomorrow in class to finish this booklet. I told students to take it home to work on if they were behind in this work.
September 16th,
Math - Students are working to complete questions 3, 6, and 10 on pages 15, and 16. We will continue working on these during tomorrow's class. There was no homework tonight.
September 15th,
Math - Students worked to complete page 9-10 in their Math Links textbook today in class. Then they moved on the booklet labeled 1.1 The Cartesian Plane. Many are still working on this booklet and we will continue with this tomorrow. Everyone should have completed #'s 5,6,9,10,12, and 13 on page 9-10.
Homework will begin next week. I will send it home with students on Monday and it will be due back to me on Friday.
September 13th,
Math - Students should be ready to correct the second math antics worksheet tomorrow in class. I will give about 5 minutes to work on it after the warm up and then we are moving on to the book work on page 9 and 10.
