ABC Order - Neatly write your words in ABC order.
Rainbow Words - Write your words, tracing each word 3 times using a different colour.
Spelling City - Go to www.spellingcity.com, type in your words and use any of the free activities to practice.
Workout Words- Spell your words aloud while you do jumping jacks, push ups, sit ups, etc.
Flashcard Fun - Write each word on two index cards and play Memory/Concentration game. Lay them face down and try to make matches.
Practice Test - Have someone at home give you a “test” on paper. Correct it together. Write any words you misspelled 3 times each.
Chalk it Up - Use sidewalk chalk outside to write your words.
Rhyme it - Write each spelling word and a rhyming word next to it.
Trace it - Use your finger to trace your words in a bowl of sand, sugar or shaving cream.
Hidden Words- Write each word, and then write all of the smaller words that you can create using the letters in that word.
Look/Say/Cover/Write/Check- Look at the word, say it, cover it, write it and check it.
Word Hunt - Search for your words in books and/or around the house. Write your words as you find them.
3 Way Words - Write your words in 3 ways (really big, really small, cursive)
Word Chains - Write down each spelling word. Change 1 letter to make a new word. Challenge: See if you can go back to your original word. Ex. cake, lake, late, date, mate, make, cake
Waterfall Words - Write the first letter, skip down a line, write first & second letter, continue until you write the whole word.
