THE LIFE OF BEES WITH LYNN GAUDET
GRADES: K-6
In this imaginative and reflective learning experience, learners will explore the fascinating world of bees—their lives, roles, and habitats—while drawing meaningful connections to their own communities.
Guided by visual artist Lynn Gaudet, learners will investigate the structure and purpose of a bee colony and consider the parallels between these natural systems and their own school environment. Each learner will then design and create a unique artistic representation of a bee, symbolizing their individual identity and contribution to the group.
The workshop will culminate in a collaborative bee colony mural, representing the strength, diversity, and unity of both bees and students within a shared community.
SONGWRITING WITH TODD MACLEAN
GRADES: 3-12
In this interactive and inspiring learning experience, learners will engage in the creative process of songwriting alongside writer and musician Todd MacLean.
Working collaboratively, learners will explore various sources of inspiration to select a unifying theme for their original song. Guided by Todd, they will dive into songwriting techniques—crafting lyrics, shaping melodies, and developing musical structure—while contributing their individual voices to a collective creative journey.
By the end of the experience, learners will have co-created a meaningful and original song, gaining hands-on experience in artistic collaboration, self-expression, and musical storytelling.
SUSTAINABLE BASKET MAKING WITH JANE WHITTEN
GRADES: 3-12
In this hands-on educational learning experience, learners will explore the environmental impact of recycling and how creative practices can support sustainability.
Guided by artist Jane Whitten, learners will discover the art of basket weaving using recycled materials. As they learn about the importance of reducing waste, learners will apply their knowledge by designing and creating their own unique recycled baskets.
This workshop combines environmental awareness with artistic expression, encouraging learners to think critically about their role in protecting the planet while developing practical crafting skills.
