Dear Parents/ Carers,
Another busy week at Dundonald!
Thank you to Miss Smith for taking a group of children to play in a tennis tournament today, brilliant weather for it and fun was had by all!
In this week's assemblies the theme was 'Deaf Awareness' discussing barriers to deafness/hearing. Do take the time to watch the video below which we shared in Lower school assembly. We also watched a very catchy sign language music video which you can watch here. British Sign Language is now a recognised language and we learnt to sign some animal names. In Upper School assembly we talked about Strictly winner Rose Ayling-Ellis, the importance of inclusion, and breaking down barriers.
The Anti-bullying Ambassadors have decided that the kindness focus for May is 'helping hands'. All staff and children will be extra focused on helping others where they can and their will be kindness awards shared at the end of the month.
With the weather being warmer can I remind parents/carers to ensure their child has a clearly labelled water bottle and sun hat if required. Please also apply sun cream at home before school.
Have a lovely weekend,
Fiona Duffy
