Dear Parents and Carers,
I am sure you will join me in congratulating all of our pupils for everything they have achieved this half term. Looking below, you will see all the fantastic outcomes that the staff and children have worked diligently to curate.
I am very much looking forwards to welcoming the children back to school on Monday 21st February, where they will continue to make us proud.

Through their maths learning, Explorers Class have been learning about different ways to make 8 using loose parts, beads and Numicon.
In their English, they have used role-play to act out the class story centred around deforestation.
This week, Inventors Class have been busy completing their final Art and English outcomes. By collaborating with one-another, we used water colours to create a class painting of the house from 'Up'.
Year 3
What a term it has been! Year 3 have made so much progress this term and we are extremely proud of all their efforts.
In our maths, we have explored multiplication and division through concrete and pictorial representations, along with some word problems related to these two operations. In our writing, we have developed our written poetry aspects in our final pieces based on the core text, ‘Congo Square’. This links into our History on the origins of slavery and our texts in Whole Class Reading.
Thank you to all the parents that came in to read with us on the final week. It was so enjoyable!
Year 4
This week, Year 4 have been showing positivity, perseverance and collaboration when completing their Art and English outcomes.
For their English, Year 4 wrote a newspaper article to inform the audience of the discrimination Matthew Henson faced when attempting to explore the artic. To complete their art, they recreated a piece on the Northern Lights and used a range of mediums such as chalk and crayons in order to do so.
Year 5
Year 5 have enjoyed a variety of lessons this week. One of these has been music, where they have identified the instruments played in the song 'Fresh Prince of Bel Air'. Next term, they will dive deeper into this song and learn to play it using a glockenspiel.
In addition to this, Year 5 have completed their English and Art outcomes. Take a look at the learning board that they were able to collaboratively curate!
Year 6
This week, Year 6 have worked incredibly hard to publish their Art and English outcomes.
Their newspaper writing has centred around a racist incident in the story of 'Stella by Starlight'. In addition to this, Year 6 have produced some masterpieces inspired by Sam Cannon.

This week, in Edison Class, we have used puppets to express our emotions.
This week, Jackson Class have loved practicing their passing skills in P.E. In addition to this, for their final outcome on deforestation, they planted a tree to replace one cut down elsewhere.
This week, Henson Class have been demonstrating positivity and aspiration when producing their final art outcome.
Equality and Diversity
We are pleased to announce that we will be holding another careers fair on the summer term. This will be a fantastic opportunity for the children to see different jobs in action and to learn about the skills and knowledge they will need to have successful careers in the future.
We are looking for volunteers to share their job role at the careers fair. If you feel this is something you would like to be involved in, we would love to accommodate you. Register your interest using this form:
