5th Grade: Op-Art Cubes in-progress work & finished product
5th grade Art TAG students learned about Op-Art "a major development of painting in the 1960s that used geometric form to create optical effects," (Tate.org). "Based in theories of color and perception, Op Art compositions often create optical illusions of vibration or depth, (MoMa.org). Students observed various images of op-art and investigated how use of line, shape, and value can alter a 2-D drawing or painting to appear 3-D.
