School Counselors / Student Assistance Coordinators
All counselors within Clifton Public Schools are equipped to help provide support for LGBTQIA+ students and their families. Each school has an LGBTQIA+ designee that can provide additional support for these students. The LGBTQIA+ designee for Christopher Columbus Middle School is Ms. Kelly Norton, Student Assistance Coordinator. As the LGBTQIA+ designee, Ms. Norton is responsible for ensuring the LGBTQIA+ community within the school is seen, heard, understood, and protected. She is also responsible for spearheading different projects related to LGBTQIA+, and educating the school community on important laws and related events. Ms. Norton's information is below. The Spectrum Club
The Spectrum Club is a club that provides LGBTQIA+ students and their allies a safe and welcoming atmosphere to connect and socialize while helping each other academically and socially. Ms. Cara Gwinnett is the club advisor, and meetings are held every other Wednesday in room 101 from 2:45 pm - 3:45 pm. Ms. Gwinnett's contact information is below.
