This course is for the new teacher or a teacher that wants to refresh and learn more about Canvas. Topics covered include: account set-up, global navigation, dashboard, building with modules, pages, assignments, new quizzes, speedgrader/gradebook, and best practices. (6 hour course)

Teachers will learn how to leverage Universal Designs for Learning when building content in their course. The course will present general best practices, information on accessibility, and content chunking.

You can even upload your own photos and add them to Canva's templates using a drag and drop interface. It's like having a basic version of Photoshop that's free and doesn't require extensive photo editing knowledge to use. Assign projects to students and have them collaborate on the platform together or virtual.

Calling all PK-12 educators! Challenge yourself to learn Google Skills. Learn basic technical skills and pedagogy to use in your classrooms. Work at your own pace and utilize newly acquired skills to create classroom-ready resources. This will be part of a series pathway that will develop the skills for Google Level 1 certification. The pathway will include 3 courses: Basics, Level Up, and Advanced. Teachers are encouraged to complete all pathways.
As part of the Early Literacy iPad Initiative, Cleveland ISD has a 1:1 iPad deployment for all Pre-Kindergarten through 2nd grade classrooms. This course will provide you with the information and content needed to effectively use iPads in the classroom. Work through this course at your own pace and demonstrate your learning through the embedded activities and assignments in each module. You will earn credit towards the Apple Teacher certification offered through the Apple Teacher Learning Center as you complete each module.
