CISD Professional Learning Mission

To provide quality professional learning opportunities and support for all administrative and teaching staff to meet the needs of a growing and changing student population. The goal of the professional learning program is to raise the levels of student achievement throughout the district.

CISD Professional Learning Program Beliefs
We believe that professional learning:

• must be aligned and evaluated against the district goals and initiative;

• must be aligned with at least one of the sixteen T-TESS dimensions;

• must be research-based, job embedded, and ongoing;

• must be results oriented, improve student outcomes and be driven by multiple measures of data;

• must be innovative, high quality, meaningful and relevant for all educators;

• must be personalized, differentiated by content, process, and products to the needs of the educators;

• must be conducted in a collaborative environment that encourages participants to be purposeful, present, and positive;

• must provide educators some choice in their learning;

• must allow for blended learning opportunities;

• must build capacity for all employees; and

• must allow for campus leadership to have a voice in professional learning on their campus.
