Mission: Cleveland County Schools will equip all students with the knowledge and skills to become productive citizens in a globally competitive world by partnering with our community to provide    appropriate educational experiences.

Vision: To fully equip students by striving to be one of the 10 best performing districts in the state.

Shelby Middle School Mission and Vision/Beliefs

Shelby Middle School exhibits a climate conducive to learning while maintaining a safe environment and a welcoming atmosphere.

* Students at Shelby Middle School engage in a wide variety of academically rigorous and extracurricular experiences. Realistic and attainable goals are achieved by setting high expectations for all students and encouraging them to become productive adults and contributing members of society. Through various programs students learn the importance of attaining education beyond the high school level and are taught this opportunity exists for all students.

* Students accept responsibility for their own learning and behavior. At the same time, they believe they are an integral part of the school makeup and are encouraged to develop a sense of pride and ownership in their school.

* All stakeholders, including students, staff, parents, and community members, work together to build positive relationships while respecting the diverse attitudes and beliefs of the school community.
