Ms. McCraw will be entering her second year as the Athletic Trainer and Sports Medicine Program Director for Shelby High School.
She is a graduate of Erskine College in South Carolina with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training with a double minor in both Health and Biology. Ms. McCraw is a Board of Certification (BOC) approved Athletic Trainer and is certified in South Carolina and licensed in North Carolina as an Athletic Trainer. Ms. McCraw also holds her CPR instructor certification to teach and certify her Sports Medicine Students.
In August of 2019, Ms. McCraw accepted the position as Head Athletic Trainer and Director of the Sports Medicine Program hoping to carry on the well respected legacy of her beloved predecessor, Dr. Jim Prevost.
Ms. McCraw resides just down the road as a Gaffney native.
When she is not busy teaching, providing athletic training services, or covering athletic events, Ms. McCraw loves to crochet and spend time with her two majestic cats, Opie and Archie.
"Growing up, I always wanted to be a teacher, but I fell in love with Athletic Training while in high school. I decided I was going to go to school for AT instead, so I did not get a teaching degree. The position at Shelby has offered me so much joy to be able to do BOTH things that I love!"
