My name is April Herndon.  I was born and raised in Florida but I think I have always had North Carolina in my blood. I attended college in Georgia and moved to NC when I accepted my first teaching job.   I met my husband in 1999 on a blind date and we married in 2000.  Brad and I have two children.  Emma Caroline graduated from Western Carolina University in Recreational Therapy.  She lives in Chicago working in Recreational and Adventure therapy.  Cameron works in Heavy Equipment for a company in Mooresboro.  Cameron married Madison (CNA at Gaston Memorial) September 28, 2024.  I have been in education for 20 years. I taught for 5 years in Gaston County Schools and 15 years in Cleveland County Schools.  This is my eighth year at KMIS and I am so excited to get to know your kids.  If I am not at work or church you will most likely find me on my back deck enjoying coffee and a good book or just hanging with my family.  I love to spend time with my husband riding bikes on the weekend.  I am truly blessed with all that the Lord has given me.
