Hello! 

Welcome to Mr. Cogdell's 5th Grade Class for the 2024-2025 school year!

Hello! My Name is Michael Cogdell. I am a product of Cleveland County Schools and love working in a county that has been so good to me. I am a graduate of East Carolina University! Go Pirates! This is my seventh year with Cleveland County Schools and my fifth year at KMIS. I have experience teaching 3rd, 5th, and 6th Grade. Aside from teaching 5th Grade at KMIS, I'm also the CCBC Coach and run our Student Council. I'm also one of the coaches for the KMMS and KMHS Volleyball teams. I’m currently working towards my Masters in Education with a concentration in Academically Gifted Students. Aside from teaching and coaching, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with friends/family. 

I'm looking forward to a great year in 5th grade and cannot wait to meet you all soon!
