General Information
Just a reminder-
Clear Lake Community Schools participates in the federally subsidized School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program. This program allows children from families that meet specific income guidelines to receive free or reduced-priced meals. If your child was not directly certified for free or reduced-price meals and is not currently receiving free or reduced-price meals, you may complete a paper application and return it to your child’s school’s main office or the food and nutrition department or apply online following these directions.
Together, with Action for Healthy Kids and USDA Food and Nutrition Service, we are dedicated to making improvements to the nutritional quality of school meals. We are excited to share that we have been awarded a Healthy Meals Incentives grant. Learn more about the Healthy Meals Incentives and grantee projects at: www.healthymealsincentives.org.
Great news! We’ve received a Healthy Meals Incentives (HMI) Recognition Award from Action for Healthy Kids and USDA for our innovative strategies that provide nutritious school meals. We’re very proud of our staff who have been working hard to earn this recognition!
With the help of the Iowa Food Hub and the USDA Local Food for Schools grant, we support our regional farmers.
