Geology Mitigation Artifact Directions

1. Open Google Drive

2. Open your Mitigation Slides

   1. Save a copy of your slides 

   2. Rename to: Geology Mitigation Artifact. 

   3. Choose your Profile of an Eagle folder for the current year.

   4. Close the original copy, keep the new copy open.

3. Open your Profile of an Eagle Google Site

   1. Navigate to the Science Subpage

   2. Scroll to below the last artifact you placed, then choose INSERT

   3. The first Content Block is the best for this project because it has a place for slides on the left and text with heading on the right.

   4. Select the + on the content block, select ‘From Drive’

   5. Search for Geology Mitigation Artifact

   6. Click on your slides and INSERT.

4. Text Description

   1. Change Title Text to: Geology.  (Name of Class)

   2. Click Enter, Change the new line of text type to ‘Subheading’. 

      1. Write: Slope Mitigation. (Name of artifact assignment)

   3. The smaller text box below the titles will be your paragraph of reflection.

Reflection (See below for example sentence prompts):

• Sentence or two introducing the Category and Option type.

• Two to three sentences describing how you summarized a pdf from the FEMA website about different mitigation measures. 

• Then a sentence or two explaining how you found additional information on Wikipedia to add more understanding. 

• Start a new paragraph and describe how your mitigation was used in the stream table lab (if it wasn’t used, explain the slide showing how it is installed). 

• End with your thoughts about how this kind of information could be useful to you or others in your community.

Even if you click Publish now - any changes you make to those slides will update automatically. Feel free to Publish now or not.

For my slope mitigation project in Geology this year, I chose the category of ___________. With ___________there are many different methods you can use to help stabilize slopes. I decided to focus on the option called  ___________, (which are also known as ___________).

To test out the mitigation strategies we learned about in class, we made miniature version to use in a stream table. Did it not work very well because the materials weren't similar to the real-life )
