The Wydown Middle School Interscholastic Athletic Program provides students with the opportunity to learn, compete, and grow through sports. The program emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and school pride while fostering healthy competition.
We offer a wide variety of sports across the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons, giving students the chance to represent their school in league play, tournaments, and meets. Teams are coached by dedicated staff who focus on teaching fundamentals, building confidence, and encouraging lifelong fitness habits.
Tryouts are open to all students who meet academic and behavioral expectations. Student-athletes are expected to maintain responsibility in the classroom, show respect to teammates and opponents, and display integrity both on and off the field/court.
Our program not only develops athletic ability but also promotes leadership, perseverance, and school community. Whether students are experienced athletes or trying a sport for the first time, our goal is to provide a positive and supportive environment where every participant can achieve personal growth and contribute to the team.
Interdistrict v. Intramural Athletics
Wydown Middle School offers both Interdistrict and Intramural Athletic opportunities. Interdistrict teams often require tryouts, because of size, space and staffing limits. Interdistrict teams practice 3 day/week and compete against other middle schools at both home and away games. Intramural athletics are all "in house" learning to play and competing only againt Wydown peers.
