Dear Reader,
This site is to provide information from a variety of sources about some of the neighborhoods in St. Louis where the history is not as well-known. Some of these places have been erased completely, like Mill Creek Valley and Hadley-Township. Some of have suffered from parts of it being taken for development, such as Meacham Park and Kinloch. All of them have rich history that has yet to be widely discussed and shared. This is not by all means a comprehensive list or meant to replace the stories from people that grew up there. When possible, the stories from those that live there that are recorded are included. As more resources are made available, more will be added. Summaries were written with the influence of many sources. Many thanks to the people that have written about these subjects that helped to shape the summaries. This is not an exhaustive list but a highlight. See references page for a more extensive reference list.
Some major thanks to the following people:
John Wright Sr., historian and educator and author of many books, including Discovering St. Louis
