SOUND PA Notes

I want to take a moment to express my appreciation to everyone who made this thing happen for making this an incredible experience. As a production assistant on the sound crew, I had the privilege of working behind the scenes and curating sounds for this show. To control the microphones, play and time the music at the perfect moment, and troubleshoot backstage. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to work with. Their dedication has truly made this production unforgettable.

A big thank you to those who carefully picked out the sound effects and even made the music. The hard work, commitment, and outstanding work that they put in. Truly completes the show.

I want to thank the teachers, directors, and parents who supported us throughout this journey. Your guidance and encouragement made this experience incredibly rewarding. This wouldn't have been possible without your dedication. And the true passion for what you do.

Especially Mr. Urvan, who has guided us through this whole thing and allowed us to be great. And to make great things. He shows true compassion while working with us and it is obvious that this is something he loves to do. He lets us be independent which prepares us for our futures and teaches lessons that apply to everything in life. For some of us who are going into high school and some who have just started their journey at Wydown. He has prepared us. This truly would never have been possible without him. From all of the sound crew, Annabelle, Paisley, George, Grayson, Scarlett, and Jane. We truly appreciate everything you have done for us.

I am extremely grateful to have been a part of this production and had the opportunity to work with such a talented and dedicated group of individuals.

CAST PA Notes

When you think of theater, you tend to think of the performances, but the performances only lasts a few days, meanwhile the memories we make during rehearsals can last a lifetime.

Theater and acting is so much more than what you see on stage. And the friendships we make during these months of rehearsals are different than any other bonds. To me, theater is walking onto the stage after a stressful day, and getting to become a whole new person. Theater is like reading a book from a whole other perspective, and getting to be that person. Theater is months of work and suspense for those few days of performances when you get to share it with others. Theater is bonds and friendships that can last a lifetime. Theater isn’t all about the performance, it’s about the preparation, the hard work, the rehearsals, and the memories.

When I look back on my experience in the Wydown Theatre Company, I won’t remember performing for hundreds of people, I’ll remember the cast, the company, and the rehearsals, and when the cast thinks about Twisted Tales of Terror, I hope that they also think about me, the Cast PA.

TECH PA Notes

We do so much behind the scenes, building and painting every day. We have been doing this for weeks getting the set ready for everyone to enjoy. Everyone has been dedicated and working so hard to get everything ready for the big day. Week after week we are doing something new, building fences, or platforms. Everything has come together to make a functional set for the cast, as we approach the big performance all of us are excited to see our work on stage. We would like to give a special thank you to Mr. Kastner for running the operation and Mr. Kuhn for assisting in the operations.

COSTUME PA Notes

During the preparations of this show, I have learned so much. Especially from a PA’s perspective. Creating the “look” for each character is an extremely important part of costume crew. It helps to enhance the audience's experience and brings the script to life. We dive into character details, explore color palettes, and consider practical elements for the actors.

There are so many elements of a show. The set, the props, the sound effects, the costumes, the actors themselves, etc. Every single crew and cast member (and director!) has worked extremely hard to make this show possible, so I would just like to shout out a big thanks to everyone, but especially to Mrs. Miller and the Crew D (Costume Running Crew).

Mrs. Miller has worked extremely hard to make sure all of the cast have reliable costumes that work with all of the dancing and running around backstage, all while looking stylish and fitting each story. To add onto that, all of the Crew D members work really hard to help with makeup, hair, costume emergencies, quick changes, and so much more.
