Between the Lines Jr. is a story about stories, why we read them, why we write them, and how sometimes they understand us before we understand ourselves.

At its heart, this musical asks a simple but powerful question: What if the place you feel most yourself isn’t the world around you, but the world inside a book? For Delilah, books are more than an escape, they are a mirror, a refuge, and eventually, a bridge between who she is and who she hopes to become.

Working on this production has reminded us that feeling “in between” is a universal experience, especially for young people. In between childhood and adulthood. In between fitting in and standing out. In between who others expect us to be and who we truly are. This show doesn’t offer easy answers, but it does offer hope: that our voices matter, that connection is possible, and that our stories deserve to be told.

What makes Between the Lines Jr. especially meaningful is the way it celebrates imagination, not as something we outgrow, but as something that helps us grow. The characters Delilah meets in the book challenge her, support her, and ultimately empower her to step into her own story. In many ways, that’s what theatre does too. It invites us to imagine boldly, feel deeply, and see ourselves, and each other, more clearly.

Our cast and crew have poured honesty, creativity, and courage into every aspect of this production. From the performers onstage to the costume, technical, and publicity teams working behind the scenes, each student has explored what it means to listen, to be vulnerable, and to step forward, even when it feels scary. We hope that as you watch, you’ll see not only the characters and story before you, but also reflections of your own journey; past, present, or still unfolding.

Thank you for joining us Between The Lines Jr. We hope you leave inspired to keep reading, keep imagining, and most importantly, keep believing in your own story.

Enjoy the Show!
