Public Safety

Program Description

Public Safety students will participate in a three to four-year program that will give them an

introduction to public safety and will the allow them to branch off into more specific areas of

study including Forensics, Firefighting, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), 911

Communications, or Corrections. Firefighting and EMT students will not only engage in the

classroom, but they will have the opportunity to participate in intensive study and training at the

Clayton County Fire & Emergency Services Department where they will work toward

certification and job placement upon successful completion of all requirements and high school

graduation.

Program Type: School-within-a-school

Grades: 9-12

Residency Criteria: Open to all Clayton County Residents (Non-Residents need to complete a different application)

Student Selection Method: Lottery

Bus Transportation: Provided for all students at designated shuttle stops
