For a student to be marked present for a full school day, a student must attend one half or more of the school day. When a student is absent from school, written notification should be submitted within three school days of a student's return to school from the parent or guardian explaining the reason for the absence. A doctors note is required if there are excessive absences (three or more consecutive days).
