Babb School Counseling Program's Vision Statement

The vision of the Babb Middle School Counseling Program is that ALL students realize their greatest potential, achieve premier levels of personal and academic excellence, and become productive members of a global society by pursuing and achieving their college, postsecondary training, and/or career goals. The future for these students is one in which they are distinguished, confident, academically driven, and strong self-advocates who demonstrate character and integrity while developing the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to make informed decisions and achieve postsecondary success. 

Ultimately, Babb students will graduate prepared, equipped, and empowered with the academic foundation, social-emotional competencies, and self-advocacy abilities necessary to overcome challenges, pursue their aspirations, and contribute meaningfully to their communities in order to live, thrive, and compete successfully in an increasingly interconnected world. 

Babb School Counseling Program's Mission Statement

The mission of the Babb Middle School Counseling Program is to empower and support the whole child through an ASCA-aligned, comprehensive, and data-informed school counseling program that promotes equity, access, and long-range results for ALL students. The program recognizes that each scholar is unique, with individual needs, strengths, experiences, and goals, and is committed to ensuring equitable access to services that support academic achievement, social-emotional well-being, and career development. Through direct instruction, indirect services, and responsive, tiered interventions delivered in large-group, small-group, and individual settings, the counseling program provides developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive experiences that promote rigorous and relevant learning, foster creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and literacy, and develop the mindsets and behaviors necessary for success. 

Through collaboration, advocacy, consultation, and data-informed program planning, the program works to ensure that scholars receive the support they need to build the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to navigate challenges, make informed decisions, and pursue their academic, college and career, and personal goals. By fostering a safe and supportive learning environment, the Babb Middle School Counseling Program prepares scholars to reach their fullest potential, become productive members of an increasingly interconnected global society, and succeed in secondary education and pursue their future aspirations.
