I am Mrs. Parker and I look forward to an amazing school year with you. Although we are not face to face, I intend to get to know all students and parents and building a healthy relationship as I would in the school. My goal is to help students grow and become critical thinkers in a growing, changing, diverse universe.

This is my seventh year teaching Georgia studies. Unfortunately, I am not a natural born Georgia peach (I am a Kentucky gal) but, I have grown to develop a DEEP love for the state and passion for it's history .This year in social studies we get to learn about how the peach state of Georgia came about and earned it's name, how it earns money, and why it is still one of the most visited locations in the world.

It is important that we work together, especially during these unprecedented times. It is also important that we treat one another with respect, kindness, and compassion. I understand that each of you have your own unique personality, attitude and interests which means you think and learn differently. It is my job as a teacher to help you grow as a learner and as a productive citizen of good character.

I am a life long learner and I am currently working on furthering my education to better service the children and community that I come in contact with. My bilingual (Spanish) abilities help reach as many families as possible. A large part of my goals as a teacher is to equip my students with life-related skills necessary for survival in a world and society of social injustice and prejudice. I come from humbled beginnings and my career journey is far from over. So buckle your seat belts, we are about to depart from your 7th grade world history into the great state of Georgia.
