AGORA | Everything in one place!
Inspired by the ancient Greek community gathering space, Agora is a School Council inititative designed to bring parents together, consolidate information, host updates on school activities and events, and promote volunteering opportunities.
We’re excited for another positive year of learning, connection, and community. Together, we’ll be supporting fundraising events, facilitating events, supporting our dedicated staff, and promoting meaningful volunteering opportunities. Our goal is to create many ways for parents to give back, contribute, and share in the important work of our school.
Stay tuned for details—there will be plenty of chances to get involved and make a difference in the lives of our students.

Over time, the gravel from our playground slowly “migrates” across the schoolyard, making the play space uneven and less safe. We’re inviting families to join our Snack & Sweep on Wed. Sept 17 to help bring the gravel back home to the playground! Together we’ll restore a smooth surface for our children to enjoy. Snacks and light refreshments will be provided, and children are welcome to play while parents and caregivers lend a hand. Please bring a broom, shovel, and gloves if you have them — many hands make light work, and every sweep makes a direct impact on our school community. Please RSVP here: https://tiny.caa/snacksweep
🚘🚨Practice Safe Driving During Drop Off and Pick Up | Do not enter staff parking lot 🚨🚘 | Reminder: As parents we are not permitted to drive into the staff-only parking lot at any time due to safety concerns, including reports of children almost being hit by parent vehicles entering the lot. A sign is posted stating this restriction—please take the extra minute to find street parking and help keep all children safe.

We’re excited to kick off another year of Fun Lunches – a year-long fundraiser that supports our school while giving students a fun lunch experience. 🚨 Parents are responsible to check restaurant websites to clarify ingredients, or allergy details, before ordering for their child.🚨
Fun Lunch Dates and How to Order 🗓️ Next Fun Lunch is Sept 24 from Little Caesars 🕰️ Orders due by Sept 19
Welcome back to a new school year! Fun Lunch is returning, and we’re excited to continue this tradition with our students and families. Please place your order by midnight the Friday before each Fun Lunch date on www.healthyhunger.ca.
What is Fun Lunch and How To Volunteer 🤝 One Volunteer per class (with PIC) needed every month
Fun Lunch is an optional fundraiser run by the Fundraising Society. Once a month, families may choose to order a meal for their child(ren) from a selected restaurant. Past providers included Subway, Edo Japan, Opa!, Papa John’s, and more. We make an effort to choose places that offer gluten-free and vegan-friendly options.
Funds raised go back into supporting student activities and school initiatives — so by participating, you’re directly helping our community while giving your child a special lunch day to look forward to.
Orders are placed exclusively through Healthy Hunger.
You’ll receive email reminders when order forms are live, or you can log in directly to check.
Be sure to check restaurant websites for ingredients or allergy details before ordering.
Remember: Orders close at midnight the Friday before each Fun Lunch date.
We need one volunteer per class for each Fun Lunch. Volunteers help by delivering meals to classrooms and collecting recyclables/garbage afterward. It’s also a wonderful chance to see your child during the school day — and these hours count toward your family’s volunteer commitment.
Shift time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Sign up here: Volunteer Sign-Up
Volunteer process:
Arrive at the school office by 11:00 AM and sign in.
Head to the gym stage (door to the right at the top of the stairs).
Check in with Sofia, the Fun Lunch Lead, or another volunteer.
You’ll be given an order sheet for your class to sort and deliver.
After lunch, collect recyclables and garbage and return them to the stage.
Don’t forget to sign out at the office before you leave.
Contact Sofia, our (amazing!) Fun Lunch Lead at (825) 561-3217
✨ Thank you for supporting Fun Lunch — your participation, whether ordering or volunteering, makes this fundraiser possible!
How to get your PIC
If you are volunteering in any capacity with, or around students at CCA, you need a Police Information Check (PIC) for Vulnerable Sectors completed. You can complete the form and pay online on the City of Calgary website here. The CCA office team can provide you a letter on behalf of the school to upload when applying which will reduce the cost from $75 to only $25. Please reach out to them directly and inquire. Email a copy of your PIC to the office when you receive it, or drop off a printed copy.
Why are the schoool emails not showing in my inbox?
Some parents have told us their CCA emails are being delivered to their junk folder. The 'from' address recently changed to: ACA Communications, communications@classicalacademy.ca. Check your junk folder if you don't see a recent weekly update. To ensure you receive future emails, choose to trust the sender, or set a permission in your account to allow any email with "classicalacademy.ca" to be received.

🗝️ Do you know this IT security tip for all mobile apps? Enable two-step authenication to keep your device secure.....
We ask/encourage all parents participating in the SC chat groups to enable two-step authentication in their app. The process is very quick, just a few clicks in your app settings. Multi-step authentication is part of best practice for any app to help to protect your device from scammers.
