Please stay tuned to Agora and your school communications for news of upcoming meetings and plans for 2025-26. Meeting minutes will be available soon.
Meet the Chair 🤝 Jas Mangat
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
From my youth, I've learned the importance of being involved in community groups, particularly councils. The position of Chair, if granted, will hopefully allow me to help others collaborate their suggestions into a productive agenda for the entire school community. I find parents of our generation are becoming increasingly detached from their child's school environment (our lives are busier nowadays), so being a Chair will allow me to create that attachment for myself so I am more aware of my child's school environment. I've served on various BODs in the past several years and maintain community work as an active component of my life. I have served in both leadership and volunteer capacities but prefer the leadership roles.
What inspired you to put your name forward for this role?
Stability is the most important reason for me. As having served on the SC Executives last year, I was able to learn many facets of how the school operates and so I hope to be elected for a term in the Chair position for this time (previously Treasurer) and continue our work from 2024.
What personal or professional strengths would you bring to the Executive Team?
I've managed teams of 40+ in the past for various community initiatives and organizations. My greatest strength is creating a structure that operates efficiently and organizing volunteers so that they are working in their niches. I have been a part of campaigns that have raised in excess of $2M so having proper governance and rule-abiding members is important to me. As long as our school is one step ahead, then it is a job well done.
Meet the Vice Chair 🤝 Olanrewaju Jinadu (Ola)
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I am a husband and dad of two with an engineering background. I enjoy hands on activities, working collaboratively with others and contributing to positive changes.
What inspired you to put your name forward for this role?
Although I haven’t served on a school council before, I’ve been actively involved in my children’s education through volunteering for class events and field trips. Those experiences gave me a deeper appreciation for the dedication it takes to create a supportive, inclusive school environment—and they sparked a desire to contribute more meaningfully. As a parent, I care deeply about ensuring all children feel seen, supported, and set up for success. I’m putting my name forward because I want to be part of the conversations and decisions that help shape that environment. I bring a collaborative spirit, a strong sense of responsibility, and a genuine commitment to listening and learning alongside others.
What personal or professional strengths would you bring to the Executive Team?
As a technical inclined person and a parent, I bring a problem-solving mindset, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative approach to decision-making. I’m used to analyzing complex systems, communicating clearly across teams, and finding practical solutions—skills that translate well to supporting our school community through thoughtful planning and inclusive leadership.
Meet the Treasurer 🤝 Reshad Ahadi
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m a CPA-designated accountant and am also active in my community. I serve as a board member and treasurer for a local mosque. Outside of work, I enjoy hike, rafting, staying active through sports, volunteering at my son’s school, and pursuing opportunities that allow me to develop both personally and professionally while mentoring and contributing to others’ growth.
What inspired you to put your name forward for this role?
I was inspired to put my name forward because I value being actively involved in my child’s education and contributing to the school community. Serving on the School Council provides a great opportunity to collaborate with parents and staff, share ideas, and help support initiatives that enhance students’ learning experiences. I’m particularly interested in helping strengthen the connection between families and the school to ensure a positive and inclusive environment for all students.
What personal or professional strengths would you bring to the Executive Team?
I bring a strong background in finance, organization, and leadership through my experience as a CPA and as a treasurer and board member for a community organization. I’m detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to transparency and accountability. Qualities that are essential for an effective Executive Team. My professional and volunteer experiences have also strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, work well with diverse groups, and find practical solutions that benefit the broader community.
Meet the Secretary 🤝 Jenn Wiebe
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I have two children in the school and we have been proud supporters of the school since the founding year. My background is in marketing and communications and I am now a teacher specializing in early elementary. I have volunteered extensively with the CCA school community mostly behind the scenes. I have directly supported teachers by leading crafts and activities and chaperoning field trips. I also served as Council Secretary this past year, which involved a tremendous amount of tireless work and effort to do what I could to make improvements for the student community.
What inspired you to put your name forward for this role?
I'm interested in supporting a professional leader and team with board experience who have the experience and vision to engage the broader school community. My research and experience at other school boards has shown me that our Council's greatest potential can be realized when we encourage volunteerism, improve communication, and formalize a structure that gives everyone equal opportunities to be involed while not asking too much of our volunteers. My goal will always be to give all parents equal opportunity to be involved by advocating for better communication and transparency.
What personal or professional strengths would you bring to the Executive Team?
I am organized and believe in honest communication. I am friendly, truthful, and direct. I have organized countless events and activities for non-profits. In my time as Council secretary I conceptualized, designed, and named Agroa as a central site for communications after hearing that improving communication was a top priority of parents who responded to our parent survey for 2024-25. My experience and effort to help lay the foundation for the newly established Council last term gave me the experience to support a 2025-26 Council team in many ways.
I worked closely with my team in 2024-25 of Jas and Ola as I not only took meeting minutes but:
Facilitated online Council Meetings on my computer, responding to questions in chats while taking notes
Authored multi-page reports
Monitored the Council inbox daily
Drafted and sent out parent communications on behalf of Executive members
Recruited volunteers at the request of admin and Fundraising Society
Spent hours meeting with stakeholders to gather and deliver parent feedback on improving school communications
Came up with creative ways parents could support/volunteer
Researched countless schools and structure of Council operating procedures and Fundraising Society bylaws
Drafted Operational Procedures and best practices documents
Proposed structures to organize committees
Designed and conducted a bussing survey
Recruited parent volunteers and launched Class Parents at the request of admin
Supported Class Parents during the pilot project and answered questions daily from March to June 2025
Launched WhatsApp groups to give all parents the opportunity to meet and chat with each other
Planned school events
Updated Agora to promote fundraising efforts, school events, and provide parents with a central place to check for information

Fun Lunch Dates and How to Order 🗓️ Next Fun Lunch is Nov 19 from Subway 🥪 🕰️ Orders due Nov 14
Welcome back to a new school year! Fun Lunch is returning, and we’re excited to continue this tradition with our students and families. Please place your order by midnight the Friday before each Fun Lunch date on www.healthyhunger.ca.
How to Order
All Healthy Hunger accounts remain active from last year, but over the summer all student profiles were reset. Returning parents: log into your existing account at Healthy Hunger and re-register each child under new class code. Parents new to Fun Lunch: please create an account at Healthy Hunger to place an order.
What is Fun Lunch and How To Volunteer 🤝 One Volunteer per class (with PIC) needed every month
Fun Lunch is an optional fundraiser run by the Fundraising Society. Once a month, families may choose to order a meal for their child(ren) from a selected restaurant. Past providers included Subway, Edo Japan, Opa!, Papa John’s, and more. We make an effort to choose places that offer gluten-free and vegan-friendly options.
Funds raised go back into supporting student activities and school initiatives — so by participating, you’re directly helping our community while giving your child a special lunch day to look forward to.
Orders are placed exclusively through Healthy Hunger.
You’ll receive email reminders when order forms are live, or you can log in directly to check.
Be sure to check restaurant websites for ingredients or allergy details before ordering.
Remember: Orders close at midnight the Friday before each Fun Lunch date.
We need one volunteer per class for each Fun Lunch. Volunteers help by delivering meals to classrooms and collecting recyclables/garbage afterward. It’s also a wonderful chance to see your child during the school day — and these hours count toward your family’s volunteer commitment.

Why are the schoool emails not showing in my inbox?
Some parents have told us their CCA emails are being delivered to their junk folder. The 'from' address recently changed to: ACA Communications, communications@classicalacademy.ca. Check your junk folder if you don't see a recent weekly update. To ensure you receive future emails, choose to trust the sender, or set a permission in your account to allow any email with "classicalacademy.ca" to be received.
