Head Coach
Coach Traynowicz enters his fourth season as head coach of the Silver Hawks after spending six seasons as the program’s Defensive Coordinator. During that time, his defenses set 18 school records, including interceptions, sacks, and tackles for loss in both single games and full seasons, as well as fewest rushing yards allowed, fewest total yards allowed in a game, and fewest points allowed in a season.
Coach Traynowicz has led 10 Monster Club performances. He previously coached the Linebackers, where six players rank among the top tacklers in school history. Coach Traynowicz teaches physical education at LSW.
Associate Head Coach/Co-Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Line
Coach Berks serves as the defensive line coach and pass rush specialist and has been coaching at LSW for 15 seasons. During that time, his players have earned college opportunities and postseason recognition.
Coach Berks’ players hold school records for tackles for loss in a game and season, as well as sacks in a game, season, and career. His defensive line units also hold school records for sacks and tackles for loss in both single games and full seasons, fewest rushing yards allowed in a game and season, fewest total yards allowed in a game, and fewest points allowed in a season.
Coach Berks teaches English at LSW and assists with the LSW Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line
Coach Asch serves as the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach and has been coaching at LSW for 10 seasons. As the offensive coordinator, his units average 36 points per game and have consistently featured a balanced offensive attack.
In 2025, the LSW offense produced games with 400 rushing yards and 300 passing yards. Coach Asch also works closely with the offensive line, where his units have helped set 28 school records. Coach Asch teaches Math at LSW and also coaches discus for the Track & Field team.
Cornerbacks/JV Head Coach/JV Defensive Coordinator
Coach Summers serves as the Cornerbacks coach and has been with LSW for 14 seasons. During that time, his units have set school records for interceptions in a game and pass breakups in a career.
Coach Summers has also contributed on special teams, where his punt return units averaged 18.6 yards per return and scored two touchdowns during the 2024 season. In addition, he serves as the Head JV Coach and JV Defensive Coordinator. Coach Summers teaches Social Studies at Scott Middle School.
Special Teams Coordinator/Tight Ends/JV Offensive Coordinator
Coach Pieper serves as the Special Teams Coordinator and Tight Ends coach and is in his fourth year with the LSW program. He previously worked with the receivers, where his units produced 1,146 receiving yards and nine touchdowns during the 2025 season, ranking as the 10th-best receiving season in school history.
In addition to his varsity responsibilities, Coach Pieper also serves as the JV Offensive Coordinator. He played collegiately at Nebraska, where he was a member of the football program for five years and a three-year starter at long snapper. Coach Pieper teaches Special Education at LSW.
Safeties/Reserve Head Coach/Reserve Defensive Coordinator
Coach Fusco works with the Safeties and serves as the Reserve Head Coach and Reserve Defensive Coordinator. He is entering his seventh season with the LSW program and previously served as the Head Freshman Coach.
Coach Fusco teaches Industrial Technology at Park Middle School.
Wide Receivers/Reserve Offensive Coordinator
Coach Devall serves as the Wide Receivers Coach and is in his second stint coaching the position at LSW. He previously coached wide receivers from 2015–2018 before moving to the defensive side of the ball to coach safeties. Coach Devall spent 10 seasons coaching at LSW prior to stepping away for the 2025 season.
Coach Devall was a letterwinner at the University of Nebraska as a wide receiver. He works as a tax accountant at SP Group, P.C.
Offensive Assistant
Coach Schuster serves as an offensive assistant, working with multiple position groups on the offensive side of the ball. He is entering his seventh season at LSW and his 27th season coaching high school football.
Coach Schuster has previously coached at Coppell (TX), Lincoln North Star, and Beatrice. During his career, he has worked with quarterbacks, running backs, and tight ends, and has served as an offensive coordinator for 18 years at three different high schools. Coach Schuster also coaches shot put for the Track & Field team and teaches physical education at Scott Middle School.
Head Freshman Coach
Coach Anderson serves as the Head Freshman Coach and is entering his fourth year with the LSW program and his 10th season overall coaching high school football. He previously served as the Freshman Offensive Coordinator and prior to joining LSW coached at Lincoln East.
Coach Anderson teaches Social Studies at LSW.
Freshman Assistant
Coach Ferguson assists with the Freshman program and is entering his fourth year with the LSW program. Prior to joining LSW, he played college football at Concordia University.
Head Athletic Trainer
Crystal Kjar serves as the Head Athletic Trainer and has led the LSW program in this role since 2004. She was recognized as the State Athletic Trainer of the Year in 2013 and was honored in 2020 as an Anne Campbell Pioneer Award recipient by the Lincoln Journal Star Girls & Women in Sports & Fitness.
Assistant Athletic Trainer
Rebecca Townsend serves as the Assistant Athletic Trainer and has been with the LSW program since 2007. She is a graduate of Southern Illinois University and has held her athletic training certification since 2002.
