Anime: Are you interested in anime? Join us to talk favorites, watch short videos, and draw characters! Led by Ms. Wenburg in Room 107.
Coding: Join our inclusive coding club to get hands-on with programming micro:bits and Finch robots! We'll work on a variety of projects, with the option to choose your own, while building a supportive community of creative problem-solvers. No experience necessary! Led by Ms. Schermann in Room 233.
Disney: Learn about all things Disney! We will learn about the history of Disney, the evolution/innovation of the company, the technology used in the theme parks and animation, and even learn to draw some of the characters. Led by Mrs. Christensen in Room 222.
Drama: Do you like to be the center of attention? Do you want to get better at speaking to a crowd? Do you like being a character? Do you want to make people laugh? Come play improv games and put together theatrical productions. Come meet other kids who like to stand out too. We will learn about all the parts of putting on a play and how to be better at entertaining others. Drama club will give you a chance to be yourself and many other characters too. Led by Ms. Carriere in the auditorium.
Dungeons & Dragons: DnD is a tabletop role-playing game where players collaboratively create a story in a fantasy world. Come and play and meet new friends. This is a club you need to plan to attend most times to keep the game going! Led by Mr. Berry in Room 142.
Engineering Club (Roads, Railways, and Race Cars): Join us to work on engineering ideas! Topics change every week and include fun activities like ping pong catapults, how solar panels work, the force of friction, making the fastest rubber band paddle boat, wind power, marbe machines, and more! Hosted by the Mid-America Transportation Center (MATC) at UNL. The goals of MATC are to promote safety, economic strength, global competitiveness, equity, climate and sustainability, and innovation. Held in Room 134.
Football Club: This club is to get students outside playing some two hand touch football as well as talking about college and professional football. This club will meet every other week the day after kickball club. Led by Mr. Jividen- meet in room 220 then we will move to fields or gym.
French: Come learn about various aspects of Francophone (French speaking) culture. Led by Mrs. Parkening in Room 238.
Gardening: Learning about vegetation, flowers, and growing and maintaining the garden spaces at Pound and home. We will be learning the differences between annuals and perennial plants and much more! Led by Mrs. Spieker in the Commons (by the green stairs).
Joyful Art: We will focus on therapeutic forms of art (coloring, mandalas, water color, diamond art ect) and also do a few weeks of positive self art by making art involving motivational sayings (you are capable, you are enough, ect). Led by Ms. Myers in Room 224.
Kickball: This is for all students, but mostly 6th graders who want to get out and play kickball! We will split into two teams for an hour of fun. Led by Mr. Jividen and Mrs. Alexander on the field or gym, weather depending.
LEGO: Love to build? Want to create and challenge your mind? Come to lego club where we will free build legos. Anything your mind can think of, you can create. May include building a set towards the end of the year. Led by Davis in Room 132
Origami: Come explore the art of origami—the Japanese tradition of paper folding! In Origami Club, students will learn how to transform simple sheets of paper into beautiful creations like animals, flowers, and geometric designs. No experience is needed! Led by Mrs. Harris in Room 226.
Pokemon: Gotta catch em' all! Come play the card game, trade cards, and participate in other Pokemon related games, etc. Led by Mrs. Parkening in Room 238.
Puzzle Club: Relax at the end of the school day with a puzzle! I will provide puzzles or if you have a favorite you are welcome to bring it! Led by Mrs. Christensen in Room 222.
Random Acts of Kindness: The Random Acts of Kindness Club is all about making our school and community a brighter, friendlier place—one small act at a time. We will work together to spread positivity, support others, and create a culture of kindness through activities like writing encouraging notes, making small gifts and doing service projects around our school. Led by Mrs. Harris in Room 226.
Rubix Cube: Join us for some Rubix Cube fun. Come show off your skills or learn new ones! Led by Ms. Wenburg in Room 107.
6th Grade Soccer: Not old enough to join Pound's soccer team? Come enjoy some pick up games and get to know others here at Pound! Led by Mrs. Parkening on the lower field.
Quick Bites Crew: A "Quick Bites" club is designed for students in grades 6-8 to explore simple, delicious, and healthy snack or meal ideas they can prepare themselves. Members will learn basic kitchen safety, food handling, and cooking techniques, fostering confidence and independence in the kitchen. We expect students to come prepared to learn, be respectful of others and the space, and be willing to try new recipes and flavors. Led by Mrs. Miller in Room 108 (FCS room).
Volleyball: Volleyball lovers of all levels are invited to come work on skills and participate in a fun scrimmage. Students will need to provide their own shoes and knee pads for the club. Club will meet weekly on Fridays. Schedule may be changed due to use of gyms for school activities/intramural sports. Led by Mrs. Gentry in the gym.
Young Librarians: This club will introduce Pound students to the ‘behind the scenes’ of their Middle School Library. Students will have the opportunity to help set up displays, interview staff and students about books, create posters that encourage classmates to read, and will put out a monthly newsletter highlighting what’s happening in the Library next month. Led by Mrs. Schmidt in the Media Center.
