Greetings Irving students, families and staff,
It is hard to believe we are entering into the final month of the school year. As the year concludes, it is a very busy time for all of us, with many end of the year celebrations to look forward to and new journeys/adventures awaiting! It has been a wonderful year and we are continuously proud of our students and thank all families for your support and partnership.
We understand that our four-legged friends are an important part of families. However, for the safety of all, we remind you that pets and personal companions are not allowed on school grounds when students are present. Even though your pet might act appropriately around children, there may be other pets that are not ok when around other animals. Page 45 of the Important Information Booklet states:
"For the safety and well-being of students, parents, community members and staff, pets/personal companion animals are not allowed to be brought on school grounds when students are present except in accordance with this regulation [3972.1]. Having your pet in the car with you when you pick up your child is acceptable."
If you are walking, please keep your animal on a leash in accordance with city ordinances and stand across the street and off of school property. Thank you for your assistance!
If your student rides their bike to and from school, please ensure that they have a bike lock and lock their bike up on their way into school. If your student does not have a lock, please let us know and we will provide one to your child.

HOMEWORK HUB:
AN OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL STUDENTS!
Homework Hub is a fantastic resource available for all Irving students! Several Irving teachers sponsor Homework Hub and help students complete daily homework assignments, complete missing work, study for upcoming assessments and create a space for students to focus on learning and develop strong study habits.
Homework Hub occurs Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afterschool from 3:00 - 4:00. Any student is welcome and sometimes if/when a student has a missing assignment or needs a space to complete an assignment, teachers will reach out to families to assign Hub to ensure students have every opportunity to successfully complete and turn in assignments.
Irving Teachers sponsoring Homework Hub are: Heidi Martindale, Bailey Roberts, Kate Regler & Cathy Mohlman.
On May 28, 2025, the district will switch the student information system to the Summer School term. This means that up to May 27, 2025, you can review final grades on the ParentVUE Report Card tab. After that date, you can access final grade information from the Documents tab or Course History tab.
Irving students will return their Chromebooks at the end of this school year on May 20, 2025. Students willrecover the same device when they return next fall. As the end of the year draws closer, please make sure your student can locate the charger (2 pieces), the bag/carrying case, and the Chromebook that was issued to them at the beginning of the year. More details will be shared with students and families through official communications in the coming weeks.

After School Program
Lincoln Parks and Recreation has been serving Irving Middle School families after school since 1977. Much has changed in the past 39 years, and we believe supervised, safe, fun, and meaningful after school activities are as important as ever for middle school students. Some students visit the rec. center simply because they need a place to go after school; however, our staff is intentional about making the center "more than just a place to go." After school staff does this by focusing on a positive environment, supportive relationships, and constructive programs. During after school hours at Irving Recreation Center, middle school students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of age-appropriate, fun, and enriching activities. Students can stay as busy as they’d like with homework, clubs, and special events, or they can simply choose to socialize with friends. We encourage all students to be engaged and take advantage of the activity choices available at the rec. center.
