We post "mini blogs" or little articles of stories to highlight events, people, and things through-out the school.
Bible Club Volleyball
The Clarion Limestone Bible Club hosted an action-packed volleyball tournament specifically designed for 9th-12th grade students, providing a unique opportunity for them to engage in some friendly competition and showcase their skills.
The tournament was organized in a double-elimination style, meaning that each team had to lose two games before they were eliminated from the competition, and also featured a losers' bracket to give every team a second chance to redeem themselves.
The level of play displayed by students from all grades was truly impressive, with each match showcasing their athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship. As you can see, the energy and excitement were palpable throughout the event. Thank you to the bible club for hosting this event.

Bible Club’s First Meeting
By Raylee Briggs
Bible Club had its first meeting on September 19th, 2024. They talked about many different topics. One that stuck out to several students was to love each other the way the Lord loves each and every one of us. John 3:16 states “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life". The words illustrate how God loves anyone throughout their sins and through absolutely anything that anyone could have done.
Another topic that they also talked about is why we pray by the pole each year. Praying by the pole shows many things Respect, Unity, Prayer, and Security. It helps others through rough times and shows importance to others keeping them in their prayers. The first See You at the Pole prayer meeting this year will be September 25th and they hope everyone feels welcome to come!

The ribbon cutting ceremony was a huge success where Wade Huwar got the honor of cutting the ribbon and officially getting to open the new greenhouse. The greenhouse will be utilized by students in both the high school and elementary alike.

Veteran's Day
On Veteran’s Day Clarion-Limestone Area School District went all out to show gratitude to the veterans in our community. Students invited military guests to join them in our high school for a delicious breakfast in the cafeteria followed by our annual Veteran’s Day assembly. Students and staff from both schools packed the gym to honor our country’s heroes with speeches, music, art, and more throughout the morning. Mr. Johnston, our Dean of Students, kicked off the program with a welcome speech. Our CL cub scouts brought out the flags while Mr. Alden, a respected teacher and a former member of the Army Reserves, shared the background on the presentation of our country’s colors. Our high school band, conducted by Mrs. Coulson played an assortment of songs all throughout the assembly, starting with “The National Anthem” for which both the elementary and high school choirs vocalized.
Robert Priest was our esteemed guest speaker for the morning. He was a specialist in the Army for five years and spent 14 months fighting the war on terror in the Middle East. He gave a memorable speech to honor those who served. As Robert gave his speech he addressed the other veterans by saying, “...I am here to tell you that we all at one point in our lives were ready and willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. To me that makes each and every one of you a hero in my eyes.” His words helped everyone in the room to realize just how important Veteran’s day is to celebrate. We must honor all of the heroes who volunteered to put their lives on the line to preserve our freedoms.
The dance team performed an original piece to “That’s Something To Be Proud Of” choreographed by Morgan Hartle. Later, Mr. Alden gave a brief description of each military branch while the band played each of their individual anthems. The gym got to see who served in each military branch as they stood for their songs. The high school choir showed their respect as they sang, “There is a Hero” written by Roger Emerson and directed by Mrs. Coulson. Adalynn Ciprich, an eighth grader, presented a poem she wrote for the veterans.
Unyielding Courage
A soldier stood with a heart so bold,
A story yet to be foretold.
He faced the battles and borne the scars,
Defended our freedom, both near and far.
When he arrived at home, he came to find,
A world that leaves his needs behind.
From jobs to health and daily care,
Our systems need to be fair.
For each path his wheels of strength tread,
In honor’s name, his life was led.
Our shop classes honored the veterans with plaques to commemorate their service. Clarion-Limestone was honored to share a special morning with our military men and women and got to thank them as they lined the halls to shake hands with students at the close of the ceremony.

On May 8th, the Clarion-Limestone special education faculty held a prom for their life skills students. They also worked with Clarion Area’s special education program and invited their students to come and enjoy as well. Any high school student at CL was welcome to volunteer and help out with any activities such as running the games, escorting a student at promenade, playing the music, making/providing the drinks and snacks, decorating, etc.
Students signed up to do various tasks to help the faculty so that the day ran as smoothly as possible. Students that signed up to help decorate arrived at the Haskell House at 7am to begin. After they were finished, they were permitted to go back to the school until they were dismissed to start getting ready for the day. At 10:15, all students and teachers in the high school were called down to the auditorium to come support and watch the life skills students walk the stage at promenade.
After pictures were taken at promenade, the students all got on the bus to head to Haskell House. They began with a scavenger hunt to get them familiar with the area. They were able to play games until we ate lunch, provided by Ezra Brooks. After eating the students danced, played games, ate snacks and smoothies, etc. The students had an amazing time with everyone at the prom! Thank you to everyone who helped out and made this possible for the kids!

Deviance in the Classroom
Written by: Alex Leadbetter and Lexi Coull
All students in Mr. Aarons Social Science class participated in a deviant act experiment with a partner or individually over the last 3 weeks. A deviant act is a behavior that is deemed as breaking social norms. After the various experiments were performed, the students created posters with all of the information and data they collected.
On April 18, 2024, students got the chance to show their posters during fourth period in room 102, to teachers and staff that were interested. The posters were hung around the room with each group standing next to their poster. The faculty were able to walk around and observe each poster while asking any questions as well. The administration was impressed with what the students have created using the information they have learned.
PSSA “Prep” Rally
Written by: Alex Leadbetter and Lexi Coull
The Clarion-Limestone Elementary School held an exciting pep rally to get the students pumped and ready to nail the PSSA’s. This event was put on in the elementary gym last week where special guests were hosted. These special guests were from Clarion MMA. They showed the students how they prepare for their big events as well as some high schoolers starred in a video on how they prepare themselves for important events.
The MMA crew performed crazy stunts to intrigue and grab the young children’s attention. Our principal, Mr. Sintobin volunteered to be a test dummy. Here's what Mr. Sintobin has to say about it, “The Clarion-Limestone Elementary recently held its first annual spirit competition in order to get the kids excited about PSSA’s, so they can do the very best that they can on those tests.”
Students got the opportunity to win prizes based on their performance on the tests. A few of the prizes included, a big teddy bear, a stanley, free passes to local places, games, lunch boxes, etc. This really motivated them to do great on the big tests! Check out some scenes from the day!

Senior Trip to NYC 2024
Written by: Maci Grenci
On Friday April, 5 twenty-one students from the senior class traveled to New York City for their senior trip. They stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. Their days were definitely long, but filled with fun!!
When they arrived on Friday they had the opportunity to ride the subway into the city, to go to Times Square. Students were permitted to go in a group and eat and shop for a couple of hours. They then attended a tour of the Empire State Building, where they got to look over the beautiful city on the eighty sixth floor!
On Saturday, the students woke up bright and early to take a ferry and head to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The students had personal time at each sight to explore and learn about each site. Later that evening, students got to explore a whole new aspect of culture in China Town, where they got to shop, eat food, and explore the new area. Once back to the hotel, students all gathered to have a pool party where they were also served a pizza party.
On their last day, they had the opportunity to explore the spectacular and world known, Central Park. They got to see sites, eat food, and enjoy the amazing weather. Later in the day, they all attended the Broadway show Wicked. For most of the students, it was their first ever live performance, in which they all loved.
Students say they believe that this experience broadened their horizon and brought a new aspect on life. The senior class would like to thank all of the people who helped fundraise, the teachers who were willing to chaperone, and the people who helped plan and organize the trip. None of it could be done without all of the support!!!
Solar Eclipse 2024
C-L Once in a Lifetime Event
Written by: Alex Leadbetter and Katera Sebastian-Sims
Clarion-Limestone School District held an event where all students were invited to see the total solar eclipse. The eclipse will never happen over Clarion-Limestone in our lifetime again, so this was an amazing experience for everyone to witness.
Around 2:30 pm on April 8th, students at the high school went outside to check out the moon as it began to cover the sun. Students were permitted to get out of class and were provided special eclipse glasses from the PTO. As the moon continued to cover the sun, the students were dismissed from school and buses proceeded to take kids home. Special permission from parents was provided for elementary students to stay and view the entire eclipse with the supervision of their awesome teachers!
Everyone throughout the school marveled at this once in a lifetime opportunity to view the eclipse from our very own school! Unfortunately, clouds started to roll in at the moment of totality, but students and teachers still had a great time.
Thank you to everyone who was flexible and made the experience well worth it for the students.
Bible Club Egg Hunt 2024
Written by: Lexi Coull and Maci Grenci
The high school Bible club held an easter egg hunt throughout the school for whoever would like to participate. Teachers were given twenty eggs to hide throughout their classrooms that were filled with candy. Everyone participating gathered in the auditorium to begin the hunt and the students couldn’t wait to get going! When Mrs. Pence gave the go, students rushed off in search of the colorful hidden treasures. After the time was up, students returned to the auditorium with their prizes in tote.
There were twelve resurrection eggs. If you found one, you were called up on stage to read it, and talk about it as a group. These students also received a large candy bar for finding this egg.
