Mrs. Osborn

Credentials and work experience:

I have enjoyed 14 years of teaching at Funshine preschool. My very first teaching job, in 1985, was at a preschool in Colorado; after that I taught Special Education, First and Second Grade, and then I took time off to raise my family.

My teaching degree is from the University of Northern Colorado and I have added many hours of continuing education and an endorsement in Early Childhood Education (my passion!).

Five things about me:

  1. My husband and I have been married 32 years and have 2 adult sons-they are the love of my life!
  2. I love working in my yard planting new plants, transplanting old plants, and just working the soil. Plants grow so much better in Michigan than in Northeastern Colorado so I have loved working with a “green” thumb.
  3. I am an active member of my church, serving with the children and adults…another passion!
  4. I enjoy being outdoors walking, hiking, or just soaking up the sunshine.
  5. I love teaching preschool.

What I love most about my profession:

I love so many different aspects of Early Childhood Education. I love the magic the young ones bring to each day as they discover their newfound independence, hear a new story that sparks their imagination or their interest, and make first friendships. I enjoy watching the growth from the beginning of the school year to the end, the change a little one makes in preschool is astounding. Often I have preschoolers 2 years, so I see them when they start school as a 3 year old and leave as a 5 year old. My heart bursts with pride for their accomplishments and sorrow as I say farewell. I enjoy working with parents as it takes a team to make the school year successful. The parent-teacher partnerships have been a blessing in my 14 years and I’m grateful for each and every family.
