Band

All students in the 4th and 5th grade are invited to join the Valley Road School Band.  Band students are given one 40 minute lesson every six school days with like instruments during the school day and full band rehearsals at 8:00am.  The band puts on three evening performances during the year:  The Holiday Concert on December 9th,  Band Bonanza (a district wide concert) on April 14th and our Spring Concert on May 19th.

All band students are required to purchase the band method book, Tradition of Excellence, for their instrument.  In addition, clarinet and alto sax students need strength #2 reeds.  It is best to purchase a box or serveral reeds since students can easily chip reeds when first learning.
