Hi!
I am Kerry Kennedy and I have been an art teacher since 2008.
I began my journey at Seton Hall University where I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Communication and a minor in Advertising Art. During summers, I taught art and dance at a local Summer camp. When I graduated, I realized that I truly enjoyed working with children, and returned to Seton Hall for graduate studies in Education.
I taught art at Parsons School in North Brunswick for over ten years where I enjoyed the diversity of the students and staff. In 2010, I received the Gloria Zasko, "Teachers Who Make Magic" award for turning a hallway of our school into a jungle. During my time at Parsons, I was a member of Parsons Pride, a group of teachers who served as Big Brothers/Big Sisters to the children.
In 2015, I received the Governor's Educator of the Year award for my school.
I came to Valley Road School in 2019, which is where I went to elementary school as a child!
