On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, various staff members and administration at Arthur L. Johnson High School participated in a signing day ceremony to honor Emma Hilton (Field Hockey), Stephen Harrington (Baseball) and Jenna Wiese (Soccer) for their years of service to Crusader Athletics and commemorate their signing of Nation Letters of Intent to play NCAA Collegiate Athletics.
Arthur L. Johnson’s senior student athlete Emma Hilton signed her letter of intent to continue her athletic and academic career at the collegiate level, where she will continue playing Field Hockey at Ball State University for the Cardinals. Emma had an outstanding career for the Crusaders as she led her team to an wonderful season. Emma scored 72 goals and added 46 assists throughout her field hockey career while also leading the Crusaders to the Union County Championship game this past season. Those numbers were good enough for second all-time in goal scoring and third all time for points throughout a career for Arthur L. Johnson High School. As one can see, Emma has had a wonderful athletic career as a Crusader.
Arthur L. Johnson’s senior student athlete Stephen Harrington signed his letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic career at the collegiate level, where he will continue competing in Baseball at Hofstra University for the Division I Pride. The senior had an outstanding career for the Crusaders as he led her team to multiple Division Championships throughout his career, including making the school’s first Union County Championship Game since 1980. Stephen batted .418 as a junior with 30 RBIs and is looking forward to another stellar season this upcoming spring. As one can see, Stephen has had a wonderful athletic career as a Crusader.
Arthur L. Johnson’s senior student athlete Jenna Wiese signed her letter of intent to continue her athletic and academic career at the collegiate level, where she will continue competing in Soccer at James Madison University for the Dukes. The senior had an outstanding career for the Crusaders as she led her team to multiple Division Championships throughout her career, including winning an NJSIAA Sectional State Championship in 2017. Jenna is a three-year starter and three year member of the post-season all-conference team as well. As one can see, Jenna has had a wonderful athletic career as a Crusader.
Gus Kalikas, Athletic Director at Arthur L. Johnson High School, had this to say about the event. “Emma, Stephen and Jenna have been integral parts of the success of our athletic programs while competing at Arthur L. Johnson High School. More importantly, they have been model student athletes that did things the right way both on the fields, in the classroom, and throughout our community. Although it will be sad to see them leave, the Crusader’s loss is their University’s gain, and we look forward to following their successful collegiate athletic careers over the next four years.”
