At Frank Hehnly, our band program offers two ensembles: 4th Grade Beginning Band and 5th Grade Band. Students build strong musical foundations by developing good habits, refining their skills, and growing as confident, collaborative musicians. Each band rehearses in sections once every six days in preparation for our winter, spring, and community concerts. The most popular instrument choices in the band include the flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone horn, and percussion.

The Instrument Lottery:

We have a number of instruments available at Hehnly for students to borrow rather than rent. Families that receive free/reduced lunch have priority in terms of eligibility. If there are instruments leftover, then families are randomly selected before the start of the school year.
