Star Student
During the school year, each student will be given the opportunity to be a “Star Student of the Week”. During the week, the “Star Student” will be celebrated and recognized through a variety of activities. This is a way for students to learn about each other and to build a sense of community in our classroom. Below is a schedule of activities:
Monday- “All About Me” Poster
Complete your poster (provided by the teacher) at home and bring it to school for the whole class to see. After you share your poster, we will hang it up on our “Star Student” bulletin board
Tuesday- “Treasures” (show and tell)
Bring in three items that you treasure and share them with our class. After you share, students will ask questions to learn more about you!
Wednesday- Your Favorite Book
Bring in your favorite story for the whole class to hear. You can read it by yourself or with Ms. Barbera.
Thursday- Star Student Book
The class will create a Star Student book for you! While the class writes and illustrates about what makes you special, you will create the cover for the book.
Friday- Guest Reader
Pick a special guest to visit our classroom and read a story to the class. Your special guest can visit in person or via Zoom. If your reader cannot join the class live, they can email a prerecorded video! The time is 11:55am- 12:25pm. **Please email Ms. Barbera (gbarbera@clarkschools.org) by Wednesday afternoon with the first and last name of the special guest reader.**
