DESCRIPTION OF TITLE READING INTERVENTION PROGRAMS FOR 5TH GRADE:
Leveled Literacy Intervention
Leveled Literacy Intervention focuses primarily on comprehension. This intervention program is used in grades 3-5. In addition to the main focus of comprehension, the lessons may include phonics, vocabulary and fluency.
Corrective Reading
Corrective Reading is a reading intervention program that is used with students in grades 3 -5. This program’s focus is reading with accuracy and fluency. The lessons include word attack skills, story reading and a workbook page.
Rewards
Rewards is a specialized reading program for students in 5th. It provides explicit instruction to help students to learn to use flexible decoding strategies for decoding multi-syllabic words. It helps increase both silent and oral reading rate. It expands student vocabulary, especially academic and content-area vocabulary.
