Mel Miller

I was born and raised in Osceola and graduated from Clarke in 1977. I received my BA in Political Science and History from Iowa State University. I received my Master's Degree in Education from Viterbo University.

I have 30 years of teaching experience, including the past 20 at Clarke. I helped start the alternative school and spent 10 years as the lead teacher. For the last ten years, I have been teaching social studies at Clarke Community High School. I currently coach Middle School Girls' Basketball and have held a number of coaching positions. I officiate a number of sports.

My wife Lisa and I have raised a son, Mike, and two daughters, Michelle and Morgan, all of whom have graduated from Clarke. Mike and Michelle are married, working, and raising families in Tucson and Council Bluffs. They have blessed us with six grandchildren. Morgan is married and lives and works in Fort Collins.
