4E Learning Community

Mrs. Sickels

It is my privilege to teach every child that comes through our classroom door. My two greatest passions is being a mom and teaching! I have been married for many years to my husband Aaron. We have two daughters; our oldest will graduate this year and our youngest has just started middle school. There really is no greater joy than being a parent.

I have been given the opportunity to teach in this school district for over 20 years. I began my career as a special needs teacher and moved into general education to teach 4th, 2nd, 3rd and return to 4th grade. I have learned so much from so many children over the years. It is so important to me that children understand they have purpose in this world and control over the choices they make. It is important for children to learn how to communicate with others in order to thrive. I absolutely love to teach reading and writing and want every child who spends time in 4E to learn a love or appreciation for how reading and writing can impact their lives.

A thought that comes to my mind often each day is...This day will never come again. That helps me to keep focused on getting the most out of every day.
