While our district is doing distance learning, our support staff are available if you or your child needs any assistance. Please send an email with your questions or concerns and/or phone number if you would rather be reached by phone. We are available during normal school hours to monitor and respond to emails during this time.
Below are some resources about how to talk to your child or children regarding COVID-19, how to support your child/children during this time of school closures, as well as resources regarding needs that your family may have.

Giving Kitchen: They are an Atlanta based non-profit who assists restaurant and service industry employees when they are unable to work due to medical emergency or crisis situations. United Way of Northeast Georgia’s Helpline: Assists families with getting connected to resources. Dial 211.
Routines: Have a daily routine in place so that your child or children will know what to expect from the day. Create a schedule together and hang it up on the wall or on the refrigerator for everyone to see and to know what the plan is!
Game Night: Play card games, charades, scavenger hunts, card games, create your own game as a family!
Take a Family Walk: If the weather permits, spend a little time outside with your child or your children (just the family) and enjoy the fresh air! Of course if you do this, do this just with your family (due to social distancing).
Dance: Turn on some music and dance!
Declutter: Everybody find an area of your home and declutter! This could be in the kitchen, bedroom, family room, bathroom, etc. Call it an early spring cleaning!
Open Communication: Check in with one another to see how everyone is doing, feeling and allow for open communication and dialogue as we continue to adjust to new changes in our homes/community/world. Stay positive!

Discussion suggestions: Explain what empathy means: When someone is able to understand how someone else may be feeling, or being able to understand the situation the person is in.
