MEET MS. PEACE

I am Madison Peace, and I am the School Counselor at Howard B. Stroud Elementary School! I have worked with children in the field of education since I was in college, but I was a teacher for three years before coming to Stroud.

I am originally from Georgia, but I have lived all over! I spent most of my life in Alabama, but moved in high school and got my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Human Development from the University of California, San Diego and from there took a position in Austin, Texas working as a Case Manager at a non-profit helping homeless and pregnant youth. After that experience, I moved to Charleston, South Carolina and became an English teacher before getting my Education Specialist degree from the University of South Carolina. I am a born and bred UGA fan, though, as many of my family members went to UGA and my fiancé currently works at the university!

I absolutely love working with students and seeing their growth throughout the school year, and I believe that every child has the capacity to be their best if given the tools, opportunities, and strategies to do so. I especially love helping students using creative arts and play therapy techniques. I am so excited to be working with all of the Stroud Superstars!
