What's with the clues?

Clue #1: Kelly Clarkson in a blue jean jumper. Gene Kelly is one of the stars of the film production of Singin' in the Rain.

Clue #2: Princess Leia from Star Wars was played by Carrie Fischer. Carrie Fischer is the daughter of Debbie Reynolds, one of the other stars of the movie.

Clue #3: Charlie Chaplin is the most well-known silent film star. In the plot of Singin' in the Rain, the characters are moving from making silent films to making "talkies" (films with sound).

Clue #4: What about My Fair Lady? Did you know Audrey Hepburn, the star of My Fair Lady and one of the most recognizable actresses of all time didn't sing for herself in the movie? Her voice was dubbed because the producers didn't think it was adequate. Instead, Marnie Nixon's voice was used. In Singin' in the Rain one of the characters, Kathy, is hired to be the singing and talking voice for a famous actress, Lina Lamont.
