Parents Together
Welcome
Welcome to Parents Together, Claregalway Educate Together National School's Parents' Association.
The Parent Association is the structure through which parents/guardians in a school can work together for the best possible education for their children.
Refer to our Constitution for more details on how we operate as a Parent Association.
Role
The role of a Parent Association as defined by the Education Act of 1998 is to
Promote the interests of the students in a school in co-operation with the board, Principal, teachers and students of a school, and for that purpose may
Advise the Principal or Board of any matter relating to the school
Adopt a programme of activities which will promote the involvement of parents, in consultation with the Principal
The Parent Association is not a forum for complaint against either an individual teacher or parent. Any/all complaints must be raised in accordance with the school’s Parental Complaints Procedure.
Refer to our Parent Association Constitution for more details on roles and responsibilities.

Tips
Starting School
Starting school is an exciting time but it can be daunting; the National Parent's Council (NPC) and National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) websites have some great resources to help prepare parents and children
Notice Board
Keep an eye on our Notice Board for posters/flyers of interest shared by the school and/or parents
Email us @ pt@claregalwayet.ie to add information
Birthdays
Please do not ask your teacher or child to hand out invitations in the classroom
We recommend the “fiver in a card” approach for birthday presents. This not only limits cost, expectations and pressure but it’s good for the environment and your pocket too
Consider the children in your child’s corresponding LeChéile class, more details on LeChéile can be found here
