MArk making

When children are ready and interested in mark-making there are a variety of different ways we can help to encourage their own development.

As part of children's development they may make marks that have no resemblance to letters of numbers and this is perfectly fine. They are beginning to explore what they can do.

Below are a range of different ways children can make marks.

For this learning experience, we are going to focus on creating our own zig-zag book and then make marks on each of the pages.

Please follow the steps on the following pages to support your child to create their very own zig-zag book.

They may need a little more support at the start to understand what to do.
